The New Cars

Im still really digging the recent It's Alive album by The New Cars. What does everyone think to the new incarnation of the band? Me personally i love it and the new songs are pretty darn good too. I hope they make a whole new studio album though im not sure what Rik Ocasek thinks of it all.

I like it alot too, I bought it first day just because i had a good feeling it was going to be good and i knew it would be a good sound. Im not sure what Ric's vibe is about it, i just think he wanted no part of touring and things like that.

I think this worked out better than expected.
To the point where'd this could've have come out as a totally new band.
However in this musical climate, the marketing was much easier using The Cars as a jump off point i'm sure.

I'd have left the I Saw the Light out of the set.
The more obscure Nazz classic Open My Eyes works well and to the uninitiated would appear to be a new tune.

Todd can obviously write and sing, has a history of harmonizing well with Kasim Sulton (another good vocalist) and the rest of the band aren't slouches.

It has potential if it doesn't tear itself apart from the inside out.

I can't imagine the Cars without Ric Ocasek, so i've been hesitant to check this out. BUT judging from the reactions of those who have heard it, the record is pretty good soooo... i'll probably buy it eventually.

Did anyone get Ric's last solo album? It was reallllly solid.

I saw Todd Rundgren at the Woodstock 94 concert and was amazed at how good he was. I'm sure this band isn't bad at all.
