all but we were the ones who supported janet and her family from day one. B.E.T. should be her audience first anyway. If mtv wants to join the party fine but if not screw mtv. Her new cd doesn't have to sell 7 million copies to be a success. If it goes platinum or sell 2 million copies that is good enough. Technically, Janet's vid will be on MTV since BET is owned by them. The problem can be viewed as such: The flagship of the Viacom entertainment empire (MTV) caters towards the 18-34 demographic with rap, new rock, etc (whatever is trendy). Vh1 caters to crap: Think MTV lite BET caters to a primarily African-American demographic in the 18-34 age range. Everything under the umbrella of "black music" is put on this channel. The videos will mimic MTV in the hip hop/rap department, but will veer towards those of us who grew up on JJ, MJ, and P (since they were the first major artists of the video era in their "genre"), so MTV has segmented the market to cater to different groups. It's all business "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I remember seeing the "All Nite" video on MTV more than a few times (probably more than on BET, due to its sound). Not sure if MTV is pulling bullshit or if they are letting BET have it exclusively and then they are going to let it air later. If Janet doesn't do a show like TRL, then it's definatley some bullshit going on again. I don't really get what MTV is trying to pull...they are all Viacom!

Sick of the Jacksons getting bullshit all the time, but ive never been dissapointed with Janet more then this time, her video sucks its not even worth a second time viewing, i mean it was really half ass effort. When you go back to all for you, god even that sounds a hell lot better then all the shit she released this time.
I feel she went too safe this time....

Still don't really understand the original intent behind pulling off the fabric. To reveal what? A lace covered boob? What's shocking about that? I wish she had of just performed in a Tshirt and jeans and got the hell off the stage. I agree... ^^^^ I was a Janet fan from Rhythm thru Velvet Rope. I so wish she and justin could have been advised against that stunt. As far as MTV is concerned. They are a bunch of hypocrites anyway. They've made billions worldwide selling sex... Now they all of a sudden want to take the moral high ground? The Superbowl stunt went wrong because of the reaction of the public. When Justin pulled Janet's fabric away it was MEANT to show her nipple. Remember, she had some type of "attachment" on her nipple. When they did an interview with the person who made the costume, they said that the fabric was meant to tear away and reveal the nipple. The costume was made to tear completely away with the "lace bra" attached. IF the public had not reacted the way that they did, it would have just been a "shocking" moment to promote an album. However, that's not the way that it turned out. This stunt was a very bad decision on Janet's part, but the reaction by the public and media is hypocritical and ridiculous. Janet KNEW what was going to happen when Justin pulled that fabric away, she just had no idea that the reaction would be this severe.

MTV seems to be fucking up on most fronts lately. I only recently heard about the 25th anniversary of the channel and they are downplaying it by not having many major specials talking about the history, leaving it up to the media. In fact, the programmer or whatever said they are looking to the future....yeah, more "Next" and "Date My Daugther"....I just saw some shit where people are kick boxing each other. They were so cutting edge and became such crap! I miss MTV...I miss music videos!
