Gladys Knight and the Pips

I was having a look at my vinyl collection and I discoverd a best of the Gladys Knight and the Pips album. This woman can sing.

'I've got to use my imagination' is just one of the best up tempo funk/soul songs ever..

Who else likes this?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gladys Knight and the pips worship
She is no less "Queen of soul" than Aretha Franklin...
I`ve been buying a lot of Gladys and the pips albums on cd, i just bought "Standing ovation" on ebay music

The motown years were great, and they were, without doubt, the best thing about Motown... Check out their version of "One less bell to answer" love
I prefer the Buddah years, there are so many good songs that now are forgotten, songs that weren`t even released as singles.

Her solo career is okay, i love her solo debut, but she`s not the same without the pips...

I know i`ve posted this clip before, but just take a look at it, and she what she is capable of, compare her short version of "I honestly love you" with Olivia Newton John`s original. Imagine what it would sound like if Gladys Knight recorded it cloud9

"Make Yours A Happy Home" is probably my fave Gladys Knight and the Pips' song. Their grooves on the "Claudine" soundtrack are great, as well.

Plus, 'ol JesseDezz had the BIGGEST crush on Gladys Knight razz

I am with you! I saw her in the last year or so on some award show and she ripped it! I went back to my small Gladys collection and paid respect.

I was born in 1968 and started really buying music by 1976. Most of the stuff before 1976 is STILL in discovery mode for me - unless my Mom & Dad or sister was playing it.
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams.

Well, I was born in 1982 and the day my dad gave me his vinyl collection, was the beginning of everything for me. I haven't listened to everything, but every now and then, I discover great albums.

One of the great reggae albums - Steele Pulse's "True Democracy" was released in 1982. Did he leave u that? If so - drop it on the wheels and enjoy.

Even their eighties music was FONKY! "Save The Overtime" and "Love Overboard" were the jams.
