Don't know much about X, except that they are from L.A. and they are punk.

X were one of the original American punk bands and, later in their career, incorporated elements of C&W and other "roots" musics into their sound (3/4 of the band even had an all-country side project known as "The Knitters").

Their sound was defined by the idiosyncratic harmonies of John Doe and Exene Cervenka, who were married in the early years of the band (Exene later went on to marry Viggo Mortensen). John has also done quite a bit of acting (including co-starring in the Jerry Lee Lewis biopic Great Balls of Fire).

I saw them tear up the joint in London way back when. They rock.

I refuse to let this thread die! Henry Rollins on one of my favorite bands:

Who do you have a problem with?

U2, in particular, bug me because it's like such a bad rhythm section. They're kind of a one-trick band that's propped up by really good production. I do applaud Bono's humanitarian efforts; getting third-world debt acknowledged, trying to help AIDS in Africa and lending awareness to that. I think that's great and I'm sure he contributes a lot of his own money to that. That stuff is also great because it keeps him out of the studio, so there's no downside to this.

I would if I was in the DC right now. But I'm in London, England. You're a very lucky mofo. Two great bands - arguably the best Rollins Band line-up and the legendary X - for the price of 1.
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

You gotta laugh! thumbs up! I saw Rollins do a spoken word show last year at the Birchmere in Northern Virginia. Great stuff!

Has the line-up for Rollins band changed at all? I only know them from the "Liar" video. I'm gonna take my Anton Corbijin DVD for him to sign. nod He'll have to sign a DVD that has two U2 videos on it! evillol
