Things Off Your Chest, July 2006 . . . join in on the fun here!

Whoever started this thread last year needs to take credit for it. But it was fun so I'm gonna try to get it going again . . .

- For those of you who hate the Janet/Bey clones -- Rihanna, Ciara, Cassie et al., I don't care for their music either. But I suggest that we don't listen to the radio or watch music television as much.

- Sometimes a fine woman is enough for a video. Fine women have always sold records, and they always will.

- MF Doom is underrated as an MC, but even more underrated as a producer.

- I love Donald Fagen, but I'm not listening to Morph the Cat that much. I've heard the grooves before. I do love "H Gang" though.

- The Amel Larreiux's and Lyrics Born's CDs I bought are coming to a used music store near you. Both were disappointing.

- I admire Me'Shell the jazz musician, but miss Me'Shell the true heir to Prince. I can't wait for her new album.

- Hip-Hop hit its creative peak in 1994. It ain't coming back.

- Nirvana inspired way too many ripoffs who'd sound like Starland Vocal Band if they weren't ripping off Nevermind for their hooks.

- Is it just me, or is it not ironic that "Buster Poindexter," once an inspiration for generations of glam rockers and punk rockers look absolutely ridiculous aping himself with the reunited New York Dolls?

- Blue-eyed soul minute: I wish Lewis Taylor and Remy Shand would come with it and make new albums.

- Philly R's moment: Where's Res? And I always pull for The Roots, and buy their records, but the last 2 have underwhelmed me.

Ok let me give this a try.

-How come the Dixie Cups are in the RR hall of fame and yet Chicago, Hall and Oates, the Moody Blues and John Mellencamp failed to qualify.

-The music industry as a whole is about 2-3 years from a total collapse due to the system they created themsleves

- a-ha inspired way too many bands like Colplay, keane, Radiohead, Snow patrol, and yet the label wont release their work here.

- How come everyone thinks that artists do their best work early in their career when i can name at least 50 artists that do their best work in their 30's and 40's

- Will MTV ever go back to playing 24 hours of videos and NO VJS, (already that Vanessa girl can stay)

- Over the last 6 years Rick Springfield has been the only artist touring straight each year

- can we get rid of Producers already, they were cool in the 70's and 80's but the new breed arent producers they are just beatmakers.

- its time for 12" mixes to return and Brit pop to make another invasion. Im talking about real remixes, not a Rap Remix.

- The Brady Bunch are recording a new album finally and pharrell is at the helm
