i would encourage you to start your own new interesting threads... avoid the stupid ones and they will die an early death (if not first removed by a moderator... i think it does still happen on occasion )

Finally the truth comes out. The bottom line is this, if you don`t like the org THEN HIT THE BRICKS. What you don`t like all the negativity and Prince bashing then HIT THE BRICKS. Larry Graham is your idol and you can stand to see him bashed; then guess what your in the wrong end of town so HIT THE BRICKS. All you whiney, half-assed, sissies need to jump ship and head over to www.thecarebears.com. I feel that a majority of the negativity that rears its ugly head from time to time boils down to a series of differences amongst the members of the org. I agree that Matt and Ben need to clean up a lot of the BULLSHIT and negative vibes that abound from this site (and yes eos23 you know what IM talking about). But each and everyone of us has a freedom to express his/her opinion the way we wish. Furthermore each and everyone of us has a right to disagree with those posted opinions. We may not like what we read or see; but we do have the power to stop whenever we wish too. No one is holding a purple-gun to anyones head. Okay, quick summary: OrgV.2 opens, features a general discussion forum. So-called "moderators" decide to combat "useless" content on GD forum. Their preferred method of moderation? Closing down the GD forum (and to add insult to injury, they posted what amounted to a "nyah nyah" message on the GD forum a month or so later, then RE-closing it, just to remind us who's in charge).

After a few weeks of arbitrary, arguably heavy-handed moderation, the Org Powers That Be quit moderating at all. They just disappeared. And this left the Org with oldies scratching their heads, and newbies running amok, and no area to confine the craziness now that there's no general discussion forum to contain miscellany.

Ben and Matt locked the litterbox in the closet and left; as a result, their house is getting filled with cat shit.

I think more strategic moderation could be in order. But that's just my opinion.

They should remove these discussion forums and bring back a better news section.
Because people can start their own topics, the news isn't being reported or commented on.
The old system never stopped us talking about other stuff and it was much more interesting.

I don't want this place to be taken seriously. The juvenile humor and interpersonal flame wars are quite entertaining and even endearing. If you'd just quit worrying about getting prince facts with every post you might see the true beauty of the Org, one of the few sites worth a daily visit.

What you really need to do is hang out at Def Leppard and Aerosmith sites, where you're not going to get all this terrible banter between fans. Go get 'em.

This is what happens here when there is no Prince news. I'm just doing my own thing & any cool news like when Xenophobia CD will be shipped will be a pleasant surprise.

I'll add one more idea to the mix...

IF the Org guys got rid of the discussion areas and only went with Prince related news like on the old Org site, then we would just start digging for ANY Prince news: where he went shopping, what events he's attended, what kind of underwear he buys, what food he buys...i remember a news piece about items he requests from venues in his dressing room. Uhh, who wants to know what kind of toilet paper he uses??? Not me.

Looking back on the old org-as much as i miss the old dark screen(it matched my work screens, if you know what i mean), the constant digging for any prince info was a lot worse than 'recipes on eating Jesus' or 'head etiquette', IMO.
We ended up knowing way too much about him when all i want-really: is where he's (or related artists are) playing in concert, what new albums are coming out, and an occassional discussion about an album, song, or lyrics-and that's about it.

Honestly... 10-15 yrs ago, he was doing more concerts and late nite gigs, producing more side projects and videos, etc.- that warranted an all news site. Now...not so much.

I think there's a happy median, but we haven't found it yet.
