Call her miss Ross (the book) I`m so curious about this book, has anyone read it?
Not so sure about the author though... the Michael Jackson bio was a little too unbelievable...

I've never read this book, but I heard that it paints a very unflattering picture of Diana. She wasn't too happy with this book.
I think J.Randy Taraborelli is a good writer, though. He wrote an excellent book on Madonna several years ago.I guess when he likes the celebrity,he's not too harsh, lol.

Yeah, it`s not the image she wants people to see... I hear Smokey Robinson called in to a show where Taraborelli was a guest, and he wasn`t to happy about the book either. I`m sure many of the stories in the book are true, but i think it`s mostly just entertaining All i do know is that it can`t be nothing like her own picture book, "Going back" Some quotes: "My kids say, "Mom... you were really hot!" That really tickles me" "My purpose in life has been clear to me for a long time. It may change, but for now, i know that i am here to serve and help others, children in particular"

Diana
Hey Marius! I've never read this book but I've seen in on Ebay quite a few times and thought about buying it. Like DavidEye says, it doesn't paint the most flattering picture.

Celebs tend not 2 like books that are TRUE.

I've got the book. It's hilarious! I believe every word of it because it makes it more interesting than if you question every detail.
There's no huge revelations. It's just page after page cataloging how much of a bitch she is. I do seem to recall that there's an incident about her in a car, running over somebody in a fit of temper.

I read excerpts yeeeeears ago...and flattering it is not. If I remember correctly he even touched on some of her failed love affairs. I.e. the fact that she couldn't mantrap the likes of Ryan O'Neal and Julio Iglesias no how much she purred, cooed, or pulled the dramatic-psycho babe-diva role on them. Both men were still debonaire, acceptible in age (to play the part of international playboy), and pretty much responded to her antics like, 'Oh please. Been there. Done that. With a thousand other women. Now please excuse me while I go look for someone younger who requires less attention'

I KNEW I should have read the entire thing when I had a chance (like 15 years ago!)

The cover made it seem too tabloidish to read.

Well, pardon moi. It is tabloid trash. That's what made it a good read. It's not without merit, but it's definitely on the sensationalist side.

i bought it on the street for $2. it was great!
i love diana and i love this book. i thought it was going to be much worse than it was..... i had heard stories about how she was such a bitch. but actually it wasn't that bad if i remember. in fact, i read this, and (later Dreamgirl by mary wilson) and i remember thinking Diana gets a raw deal. i thikns it's Miss Ross that talks about she and the other Supremes all got paid (and ripped off by Berry Gordy) equally, even though Diana did double or triple work (singing leads plus doing the backgrounds). She worked really hard. when she left motown she had very little money in relative terms, considering the millions she made for mototwn. she can be a bitch if she wants, she deserveds it!

In her autobio she slammed Florence's name against many a time. I remember Flo's daughters comming out on their mother's defence in some news segment, it was posted in youtube.
Lemme go and find out,,,,

J Randy T is a hack. He wrote a fairly rubbish Sinatra biography, which missed the whole point of the music and rehashed Kitty Kelly's far superior book. Bet JRT writes a Liza Minnelli book next. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Apparently, he kept pestering her and asking for her autograph and she just took it in her stride, trying to ignore him. The guy said something like "But Diana - I love you! What about your songs? 'Reach Out And Touch'?" and she yelled back "They're just SONGS!" before waltzing out. You don't wanna mess with Miss Ross!

It's a very good read.I've read numerous Madonna books and I can tell you that this is the best: Randy is obviously a fan of Maddy. He seems in awe of her,yet he doesn't kiss her ass.The book is honest and not as "tabloid-ish" as other books written about her. However, there's a lengthy discussion about Madonna's fling with Prince (very interesting to say the least!)
