Beyonce's diva antics ruined Prince duet
Monday, July 24 2006, 17:17 BST - by Susanna Regan Beyonce Knowles has spoken about her regret at releasing her inner diva during a duet with music legend Prince. The 'Deja Vu' singer performed with Prince at the 2004 Grammy Awards, but after seeing the footage of their performance she was horrified, as her stage alter-ego "Sasha" dominated the show. Knowles told Contactmusic: "I saw that I didn't even give him [Prince] the mic. It was supposed to be in the middle, not in front of my mouth. Sasha just took over." The star claims that during her time in girl group Destiny's Child she was able to keep her domineering character in check, but being a solo artist is a different story. "I just know when to be quiet and let other people shine...[In the past] I didn't think it was appropriate to let Sasha out," she explained. |

I think prince would of appreciated her doing that, as she seemed to really enjoy herself and probably wanted to do her best dueting with such a major musical influence, and he is always saying its about the music, and i think thats what she did, but sometimes during the performance i thought "oh no whats she doing", its only because i'm a hugh prince fan, other people who aren't really into to either artists probably thought it was really good, its just we all get a bit sentimental when it comes to prince!

x x SO TRUE. I watched the performance and loved the fact Prince was kicking back. He certainly seemd to enjoy the ride "Sasha" was taking him on. I always had the idea that this performance sparked his idea for Tamar's performances... |
