One of, if not THE best track on the album.

"Mo-mma always told me to be careful who I lo-oove...."

All the mixes (Quiet Storm/Timbaland's Main/Album Version) sound the same, basically.

Nah, Timbaland's Main mix was the one I wanted. I don't know why that was the version I knew so well before I bought that album. The station I listened to must have been playing that remix instead. Then I heard the album version and it sounded like something was missing. I was disappointed. neutral

What the hell took you so long to buy the album? That was the third single after "If Your Girl Only Knew" and "One in a Million" (radio only).

"Came to Give Love (Outro)" is probably my all-time favorite interlude.

"If Your Girl Only Knew" never did anything for me. I bought the album for "One In A Million" and "4 Page Letter". I like the "Hot Like Fire" remix, but that wasn't on the album either.

I think I bought every single in addition to the album separately. Twice. Vinyl and CD. The "One In A Million" remix I liked was Armand's drum n' bass mix. That was HOT.

hot edit

It was very good. For some reason, it didn't come out until at least a year after the single came out.

eek disbelief That's one of my favorites.

I love both versions of "Hot Like Fire." OTOH, I loathe the "One in a Million" remix. Some songs should be left alone.

"Hot Like Fire" had a remix.

"One In A Million" had a remix that sounded like Pony that featured Ginuwine.

The "Hot Like Fire" remix is wicked.

"One In A Million" really shouldn't have been touched again, it's one of my all time faves.

I like "Choosey Lover" too especially the Old School part, it's got some bad ass guitar in it. smile

Her voice was gorgeous sad

So was "If Your Girl Only Knew" what Rahzel used for his version? hmmm

Superb song. worship The very end where the old school-sounding synthesizer comes in is the best damn part, IMO.

I've also found a new appreciation these days for the album as a whole. Great stuff.

nod I still say it's the best thing Aaliyah, Timbaland, and Missy have ever done. Come to think of it, "The One I Gave My Heart To" is one of Diane Warren's best.

thumbs up! Now, I'm not sure whether to call OIAM or the eponymous album Aaliyah's best considering the latter was so artistically brilliant for a contemporary r'n'b album in 2001, but Timbo's production was definitely at its freshest and Missy's songwriting as its strongest during the OIAM era.

The vid for "TOIGMHT" is great, too. So dramatic when she just falls to her knees in the rain, belting her heart out...

I was kinda hit & miss w/ Aaliyah songs, this one never appealed to me for some reason confused

If Your Girl Only Knew is my fave song by her...

Never did understand why some of her album versions were so drastically different from the released/remixed versions. I was always returning albums & hunting down singles lol Her must have remixes are Hot Like Fire, If Your Girl Only Knew... Seems like there's another hmmm

Was "One In a Million" the same as the album version?? confuse

They're probably giggling because to enclose more commonly means to surround/fence in/envelop.

But I used ol' trusty yourdictionary.com and to enclose can also mean to "insert into the same envelope or package". Aaliyah enclosed her letter with a kiss.. in other words, kissed the letter and then sent it off. wink

It's from back in the R. Kelly days. "Hot Like Fire" is great and all, but the #1 must-have Aaliyah remix is "At Your Best (You Are Love) (Stepper's Ball Remix)." In its own way, it's as phenomenal as the original cover version.

"This is for the steppers, strictly for the steppers..." music

(BTW, please don't tell me you returned One in a Million! That's just wrong.)
