This is the one which can still be found . I scored it @ a bin shop once .
The one with the picture-sleeve ( pictured on top of the article ) is much harder to locate .
A friend of mine was lucky though , cause it is said that the printed cover was shelved very quickly .

Trina Broussard , a soprano best known for covering soul legend Minnie Riperton's hit Inside My Love for the Larenz Tate movie Love Jones . Broussard was signed for a time to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Label , writing for and working with such artists as Aretha Franklin ,
but her own project was stalled, and Trina then moved to Motown/Universal .
Her second album , Same Girl , was released in 2004, but despite good reviews , it failed to find an audience .

Check the 3-page link above with lots of interesting info about Trina

Her version of Inside My Love can be heard on MySpace

Writer/Producer Jamie Hawkins is the real deal . Though born
the son of gospel legends , Walter and Tramaine Hawkins , Jamie
has carved out a style all his own . Known around the world for
his beautiful melodies and full-bodied production , Jamie is the
man musicians listen to when they need inspiration .

In 1999 , Jamie signed with Elektra Records and recorded a self-
titled album . Although the album was never released , its
promotional sampler became and international cult classic . With
only 250,000 copies in circulation , it has commanded prices as
high as $400 in online auctions 5 years after its release .

His voice or his musicstyle ?
I haven't compared them differences yet .
I dunno , voice-genes can be inherited but he got also genes from his mom which maybe might make a difference on how a voice sounds .

i pretty much had my mind set on him sounding like DJ Sr. you know... ready to hear something that was similar to "Say You Love Me" or "Changed" "Love Brought Me Back""Faithful to the End" etc..etc.. yeah you right about the genes biggrin , but "hey" he got his on thing going and taken from that there was a song that kinda put a buzz in the ear probably do to the sample of Al's "Simply Beautiful" and the almost Bootsy title "Rather Be In Love".

Thanx 4 all the backdrops thumbs up!

A friend of mine does A&R work for independent soul-artists .
There are dozens of projects which are shelved .
Here's another site which has summed up some treasures :

http://www.soul-treasures...eased1.htm

http://www.soul-treasures...eased2.htm

Even a Motown-list with unreleased albums can be found on the net :

http://www.geocities.com/...otown2.htm

Thanx to the digital era and with opportunities like www.myspace.com and an expanded place like www.cdbaby.com ,
artists can take more control of their product .

It's what Prince started earlier with his NPG-management .
I even was aware about it in the 80's .
Cameo , my alltime fave funkband , had their own Atlanta Artists-label + management in Atlanta .
Only the album-distribution went via Polygram Records.
Larry Blackmon always stressed on this particular segment of the business-industry .
.
.
