this guy puts most american soul musicians to shame talentwise. omar rolls with stevie wonder. i wonder if p has heard of him yet?

before d' angelo, maxwell...all those cats. omar has been around doing his
thing. one of few people holding it down aside from people like p, tonytonitone, mint condition, etc. definitely one of my favorite artists ever. he has actually worked
with common on his latest album, lamont dozier (wrote a lot of motown hits), angie stone, caron wheeler (from soul II soul and erasure), and erykah badu. also old dirty bastard (lol), and carleen
anderson (who is great also). stevie wonder and omar are fairly close i believe and have worked together several times as well as stevie's ex-wife named syreeta wright who has an excellent voice by the way.

omar lye-fook is from london but is of jamaican chinese father and east indian descent on his mother's side. his site says his music is like a mix between classical, funk and jazz. i'd say that sounds right more or less but you can not really typecast this guy. his lyrics are much more intelligent than most as well. just judge for yourself if you can make it. but pass this on if you can.
