Not a big fan of Bilal but that peformance was cool. Anyone that's hip to Funkadelic, Fishbone, Screaming Jay Hawkins, and P knows where Bilal was coming from with that jam. And I dug the opening notes of "Purple Haze" at the end.

The dude grew up middle class, both of his parents were educators or something, he went to a performing arts school and was classically trained vocally from what I understand. actually, in that interview i posted he said he'd like to do a full on opera 'cuz he's sick of seeing artist just standing in one place singing the same ol' song. i've always wanted P to do this. i think the closest he's come is the album.

if you didn't listen to the interview, you should. believe it or not he's saying some interesting stuff in it, despite the fact that he loses his gotdamn mind during it here and there.
