A "Guitar God" and huge influence on Prince. During his high school years, I bet Carlos Santana was his favorite. He can practically play his solos note for note. Princes own soloing at times reminds me of Carlos, especially the solo in "Computer Blue" and countless others. His rhytmn is more Freddie Stone and his soloing more Carlos. So with Prince you've got the best of both worlds! Release Yourself | |

There was a cool profile of him on CBS' "Sunday Morning" program. It showed a lot of his wife and detailed their relationship as well. It ended with Carlos laying down some cool licks to a Mary J. Blige track.
