Mo Better Blues

Oh my gosh!!! I got a copy of this a few days ago to finally satisfy the craving I've had for this soundtrack since the movie came out.

I have loved, loved, loved the theme song ever since, too.

But, this CD isn't just a bit of Hollywood gimmickry. There's some real jazz on this album. Spike Lee's dad, Bill, produced this with Delfeaya Marsalis and Ramond Jones.

You got Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland and Terence Blanchard holdin' it down, too.

It's a magical CD. I'm adding four of its tracks to a jazz sampler I'm burning.

cool

I feel you! It is great. I got it earlier this year and loved it from beginning to end. You might like the School Daze soundtrack as well.

That's the only place (that I know of) you can get the Phyllis Hyman's song "Be One." Stevie Wonder also plays on a track.

A buddy of mine and I used to call that the "Patented Bleek Gilliam Glide Stride."

And, yes, we would imitate it for a laugh.
