I have all ELO albums and a 3cd box set compilation with some interesting rarities (flashback) I'm rebuying the remasters too but they're taking too long in between releases. They started in 2001 and there's still lots of stuff to be released I even went to see The Orchestra some months ago Only Kelly Groucutt and Mik Kaminski (+ Louis Clark) from the original band but it was fun The box set is good.

Jim Grieve adds: "Yes, 'Grroosss' is the actual word (taken straight off the lyric sheet). Jeff Lynne says it's just a word he made up. Although Mack (the German engineer who worked on this album) noted that it sounded kind of like the German word for 'good morning'('guten Morgen'). Most folks think it sounds like they're singing 'Bruce'. For that reason, when the song is performed these days, Jeff will sing 'Bruce' instead. sorry for jacking the thread. Gross, seriously? It doesn't even sound like that.

I used to hate ELO as a Beatles wanna be band, but when the traveling wilburys came out, it caused me to rethink my position..

I've listened to both Traveling wilburys albums + Full Moon Fever + George Harrison's Cloud 9+ Roy Orbison's Mystery Girl + Del Shannon's Rock on + Jeff Lynne's solo album... on shuffle and sometimes you don't know what disc is playing til they start singing I highly recommend it though Guess this makes me a Jeff Lynne fam

Fucking LOVE Jeff Lynne/ELO. I have said before, I truly think this guy is THE most underrated genius in pop music.
As for my favorites... I actually like ELO's older stuff more than anything. Eldorado, Face The Music and New World Record are the best in the catalog imo. I love the other stuff too, but those early ones has a little more edge and not as much gloss. BUT I have to say I love Out of the Blue, Time, and Zoom almost as much. Talking about the last ELO album, Zoom, out just a few years ago, was such a forgotten gem. I bought this used for about $4...I didn't even know it was out. But man, its great stuff. His solo album from the early 90s rocks too. As for Xanadu...extremely cheesy...but fun and good every once in awhile. I do like some gooey cheese every once sometimes. My favorite songs...Fire on High, Showdown, Can't Get It Out of My Head, Don't Bring Me Down, & Lift Me Up (and a lot more...)

I bringing this back to the top of the heap. I am listening to Zoom right now. This deserves at least a little more attention. "It really doesn't matter at all..."
I am sorry but ELO rocks.
