She was never a good dancer...doesn't really lock into any move. She wiggles thru everything...but that's been working for her.

Dancing is a weakness for Beyonce. The first time I realized she couldn't dance was when I saw her perform Baby Boy live. I eagerly awaited to see her do the sand scene from the video because Baby Boy is my favorite Bey song and video. Well, I was very disappointed. I didn't know that the sand scene was shot with one of those cameras with a fish-eye lens (remember the Paula Adul video) that makes you look thin and more fluid. When she tried to flip her ass over like in the video, it look like her body was weighed down with a 50 lb sack of potatoes. It did not translate well live because there was no camera trickery.

I have to give Bey credit though. She puts her all into her performances. If you've ever seen footage of her when she was younger, she danced really hard back then too. She's just extra with everything...her singing, her dancing, her attire, her hairstyles...that's Beyonce.


I am happy that she doesn't prance around like Ashanti doing the 2 step.

Actually it's some African dance choregraphy she was doing(I've seen this type of dance in African artists videos) but I agree she's not all what she thinks she is.

i think part of the problem is B still uses the people that cherographed for DC when DC was a bunch of girls from Houston. People that only were used to working with High School Drill and Dance teams... not people that experience turning a great High School dancer into a great professional dancer.

that translates to B not progressing beyond that great highschool dancer.

She needs to hire professionals... stylists and cherograhers and designers and what not.

But I think she's a good dancer. she's better than a lot of other ppl in entertainment, but this vid seems like she was trying to become more of a classicly trained type of dancer and it didn't always work. She tends to go through a transition period as her dancing improves, where she looks like a chicken with her head cut off in one video, but then she does significantly better in the next vid or in a live performance. It works for her.
