Tears for Fears

Just bought this CD, Greatest Hits, and was just realizing how much I miss these guys. Are they touring? What are they up to?:

*Everybody want to rule the world
*Sowing the seeds of love
*Shout
***Head Over Heels*** music

"Head Over Heels" is my favorite, then "Sowing The Seeds Of Love"

I think they got back together a couple years ago.

They released a great ablum a few years ago titled Everybody Loves A Happy Ending. It's almost like it picks up right where Sowing left off. I don't think you even have to be a fan to dig it. It's just a great album.
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

They are still together. They just released a good live album.

They are also performing all Oct and and Nov in Belgium and Holland as part of a "Night at the proms" show.

They have been one of my favorite groups since I was in high school! "Mad World" is still one of my favorite songs!
I had tix to see them in NJ last summer- touring with Hall & Oates- and they cancelled and were replaced by TODD RUNGREN! disbelief
I'm sorry, but I was willing to sit thru H&O to hear my beloved Tears For Fears, but I couldn't do it... so I called Ticketmaster and cancelled the tix. I got hit with a huge financial penalty, but...

The website said the cancellation was due to "legal issues" with the promoter.
sad

I loved the new album!!!

I went thru a major TFF phase recently when the deluxe 2-CD reissue of Songs from the Big Chair came out. Such a great release!

Also, I finally discovered Roland's solo album, and it's excellent. Very underrated album.

Elemental is my favorite. He kept the TFF name even though Kurt wasn't in the band.

I picked up their album "Raoul and Kings of Spain" a few years back - it was released in 1995 I believe - and it was though they hadn't missed a beat. Extremely tight.

I agree, I love that album. That is the great lost TFF album - not enough people have paid any attention to it.

It was actually released as a TFF album.

Roland's solo album is "Tomcats Screaming Outside", although i don't know why he released it as a solo album - its every bit as much a TFF album as Elemental or Raoul and the Kings of Spain. It's a great overlooked record.

When TFF as a duo split up in 1991, Roland kept the rights to the band name, hence the two TFF albums in 1993 and 1995 which were in fact solo albums.

Roland dropped the TFF name for the Tomcats album, at a time when he and Curt were back on speaking terms 5 years ago. Maybe he knew they would record together again, so he stored up the TFF name.

Curt has a solo album in 93 which was crap, a great album in 1997 (under the name Mayfield), and a great album in the works called "Halfway pleased".

They are still performing together, so I'd be surprised if they didn't do more (there is a new track on the end of the current live album). But they haven't said either way if they are going to do another album or not.

I love TFF! "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is my second-favorite '80s song. I will also echo the sentiment that Everybody Loves a Happy Ending is a great record.
