Jill Scott/The Roots: Dave C. Block Party

i finally saw Dave Chapplle's block party last night! while all the performances were good, the performance that grabbed me was Jill Scott and The Roots!! i wanna hear more shit like that!!! That was HOT and otherworldy! eek ufo

seriously, i didn't know Jill got down like that live. i do know Erykah has a tight live show, but next time Jill comes around i'm gonna go check her show, hopefully, she's on the same vibe. pray

anybody else digging this set?

nod yes the whole show was off the meat racks!!!! This is the type of concert that I will pay 50+ dollars to go see....i mean and all of these artists at one time too.....nod yes...

these are the type concerts we need to be seeing more of...

the performance that you are speaking of with Jill and The Roots was HOTT!!! Even Jills gold rimmed sunglasses went with that performance perfectly!!!!

Common & Kanye love my goodness...then Mos Def + Talib Kweli = Blackstar, those performances were hott too!!!!

You should get the soundtrack, i blast it out of my car now and then, helps emphasize the nubian queen that I am batting eyes

I just bought the Soundtrack after seeing the DVD. Yes my girl Jill ROCKS! I 've seen her and Erykah Badu perform and they are wonderful. I will see them both on the same stage on August 12 in Brooklyn.

It's going to be a sizzling day!

I really wish the movie had done better, I thought it was great - the perfect combo of music, comedy, anticipation (the Fugee reunion) & a bit of drama, considering this happened after Dave's defection from the show.

I haven't picked up the soundtrack yet but I should...

And YES, Jill Scott is so very good live. Do check her out, I'll never miss a show if I can help it cool
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Jill's shows are good (I've seen her twice) but unlike Badu everything seems planned/arranged/orchestrated down to the second, with little or no improvisation from her or her band. even her speak with the audience seems rehearsed. but I'd see her anytime she's in town for sure. she's got a hell of a voice and her presence is fucking unreal.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Erykah's wig moment was the best moment of any movie last year, hands-down.

I really enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack.

All the acts were great...

Nice to actually see Dead Prez perform...

Jill was awesome as always...

And of course Erykah was great. I really wish she had done more. Loved her stage dive and the collaboration with Jill on You Got Me.

don't let that keep you from getting the soundtrack though, the acts that they did get to feature on their still sound great!!! Believe me, I really wanted to hear Kanye's live performance with Common & Mos Def too, but I bought the dvd, so its not like i'm missing out. thumbs up!

HELL YEAH!! I was so pissed at this shit, that was the main reason why i bought the dvd, to see WHOLE performances....especially Common, because they got Common performing "The Light" with Erykah Badu and Bilal on the soundtrack, but they don't show the performance AT ALL on the dvd.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I was suprised at how much I liked the music in his movie. I always skipped the musical guests on Chappelle Show.

Jill is extremely tight but Dead Prez was it for me. That was the first time I saw them do their thing on stage and although I'm not a hip-hop concert fan, I'd pay to see them.
