Prior to the infamous waldrobe malfunction MTV always supported Janet, now MTV
almost never say to much about her upcoming projects (Damita Jo) included, but on ther other hand they never stop supporting Justin.... He played a major part in that little disater... why do you think that is ?

I think it's more of an age thing, than a race or gender thing. Janet's 40, thats like an old geezer to someone who's 18 watching MTV.

yes that is extremly unfair and hypercrticla of mtv, which is why I hate that network with a passion,. if Madonna would have dane it they would have gotten over it a long time ago. and I agree with pleasure principle it's not an age thing because madonna is near 50 and they promoted the mess out of her.

MTV played the shit out of the All For You singles back in 2001/2002, gave Janet the first MTV Icon award, even put together the Super Bowl halftime show that spawned Nipplegate. Even the stupid video she did with Beenie Man was all over MTV when it came out.

The first two videos to come from Damita Jo were sub-par; 'Just a Little While' was obviously thrown together, and 'I Want You' wasn't much better. By the time 'All Nite (Don't Stop)' came out, the album was dead.

And I don't remember the last time MTV played a Justin Timberlake video anyway. His album was done by the time Nipplegate happened, and he hasn't really done anything since.

Honestly, Janet isn't your sister/mother/girlfriend. Some people on here get so defensive when the subject of Janet comes up.

Timberlake and Madonna continue to enjoy generous amounts of airtime - Fact! I can't remember the last time I "flicked through" the music channels without seeing one of them prancing around the TV screen.

Never heard such a fuss about nothing. It's very simple. Timberlake's last album was a smash hit. Janet's last album was a flop. Go up to the average MTV viewer and ask them who they're more interested in out of Janet and Justin and you'll soon see why MTV are concentrating more on Justin. There's no conspiracy here guys.

Madonna has had 2 #1 Albums since Music her last number one album. I believe Damita Jo Janet's last album went #1 and sold more than American Life.

Janet has the ability to be a big hit in the States because she is RnB focused. She just has to be able to put out a somewhat dencent album. Plus Virgin has to be willing to promote it. Trust me Jive is working overtime to put out JT's album since they have lost their other flagship artist Britney.

It's about how much work the label puts out there anyway. If Virign wanted to promote Janet you better believe MTV would be playing her single... is the video out yet? the single been release yet?

we can't blame this all on MTV or whomever it depends on the aritst and the label. Maybe Janet isn't wanting to be on MTV or maybe Virgin is holding back for a more upbeat single.

Janet left a message on her website that her video is permiring on access granted on July 26 and she'll be on 106 and the park July 31. no Mtv once so ever, so I guess they still do have a grudge
