Speaking of Bacharach....Aimee Mann's new album out this month

This is going to be a great month for music...Now, for you "i only like prince or artist who sound like or who are related to prince", skip on...

For those of us who can appreciate a wide musical pallet will be excited about Aimee's new disc... Funny thing, I heard a song on the radio yesterday and could have sworn it was her, but i didnt recall the song...im guessing it is her...and the song rocks!! surprisingly very radio friendly.

and why the Bacharach mention? well, aimee is a huge fan..she formulates a lot of her vocal harmonies in his style...and her duets with elvis castello kick arse!!!

heres the story:

Aimee Mann's new one, Lost in Space, will be released Aug. 27 on her own SuperEgo Records. The album will feature "Invisible Ink," "It's Not," "Lost in Space," "Pavlov's Bell," "Real Bad News," "This Is How It Goes," "Today's the Day" (formerly "Enough," written for the Jennifer Lopez movie of the same name), "Guys Like Me," "Humpty Dumpty," "High on Sunday 51," and "The Moth." Husband-musician Michael Penn, producer-musician Jon Brion, and singer-songwriter Jason Falkner all make contributions to the disc. Lost in Space is the follow-up to 2001's Bachelor No. 2. no prob...this is turning out to be the best year for music in a very long time...

youve alread got Cookie, Norah Jones and Neil Finn...This month alone brought us Beth Orton's new disc, Bruce Springsteens masterpiece and now Aimee...

I've bought more music this month then I did all of last year...

New stuff to look forward to: A new Radiohead disc, a massive box set from Bjork including her greatest hits, videos, a new orchestra arrangment of Vaspertine and other tunes...rare tracks and get this...her embrassement of her classic music training as a child, whatever that means...

damn this year rocks!!! I wonder if Prince will release something that gets me this excited...crossing my fingers in anticipation...
