Erykah Badu in London DID ANYONE CATCH... Erykah Badu in London last weekend? I saw her second performance on Saturday night at Somerset House. It's a great open air venue and I was pleasantly surprised by the show. I didn't know what to expect from Erykah as she's given to one or two eccentricities but she gave a very strong performance. Her vocals were T O P notch, and her set mostly featured tracks from Mama's Gun. One or two numbers from Baduizm were played and I think she opened with a couple of songs from her projected fourth album -- both catchy tunes. She even danced to Gil Scott Heron's Who will pay reparations for my soul? which utterly threw me back. All in all, the sell-out crowd got their money's worth. M.2.K

I'VE NEVER HEARD WORLDWIDE UNDERGROUND...
I heard the first single, really liked it, but for some reason never got round to buying it . Erykah's been off my radar for a while now, if truth be told, and it's only since you mentioned Worldwide Underground do I remember that it was once on my shopping list. My friend who accompanied with me recognised some tracks from Worldwide Underground. From Baduizm: Certainly, Next Lifetime From Mama's Gun: Didn't Cha Know, Booty, Kiss Me on My Neck, Bag Lady, and one other.. Time's A Wastin'. badujunkie said: I'm so jealous. the best performance was "bag lady" but only 20 seconds of "Tyronne" and a few minutes of "on and on" but what was up with the incense and the milk? an entertaining time nevertheless..... | |
