Viacom owns CBS MTV VH1 and BET... so it doesn't matter one doesn't get it without the other.

That's total bullshit and you know it. They're going to stick Janet on BET like they did during the Damita Jo era but deny her the ability to promote on MTV. It's so they can say there's no embargo even though they're keeping her off their #1 commercial platform. Well, okay - the song is a hit without it, anyway.

Meanwhile, Justin's white ass is all over MTV.

And Hung Up and Sorry were heavily promoted on MTV and TRL, so that age thing is total bullshit, as well.

what artist cost the company money? Did JT know there was going to be a reveal of some form? yes Did he know it was going to be a barebrest vs a bra? more than likely. Who had the ultimate decision is the whole fiasco? Who chose not to wear a bra under the corest? Who was the one that was silent on the whole stint for two weeks causing more harm than good?

I started this thread because i really think that something funny is going on over @ MTV.... this is quote from Blender magazine that had Janet on the cover
June/July 2004
"MTV is absolutely bailing on the record(Damita Jo) a senior Viacom excutive told Blender The pressure is so great,They can't align with anything related to Janet. The higher-ups are still pissed at her, and this is a punitive measure"

Then Judy Mcgrath,MTV Networks Group president said "We didn't pull our support.. The video didn't seem to connect with our audience. If there was demand for it, it would be on TRL" I just find it funny because i don't recall TRL ever premiering the video... i never saw the video on MTV at all

and the whole 40 thing is crap cuz Madonna is pass 40...
.....the same thing that entitles all these ake artists out 2day...and u say that we care 2 much and all this other bull,y r u still posting in this thread then?

Madonna only hit number 7 with hung up on the pop charts. She hasn't had a number one single since Music which was the same year Janet had her last number one single.

Madonna has had 2 #1 Albums since Music her last number one album. I believe Damita Jo Janet's last album went #1 and sold more than American Life.

Janet has the ability to be a big hit in the States because she is RnB focused. She just has to be able to put out a somewhat dencent album. Plus Virgin has to be willing to promote it. Trust me Jive is working overtime to put out JT's album since they have lost their other flagship artist Britney.

It's about how much work the label puts out there anyway. If Virign wanted to promote Janet you better believe MTV would be playing her single... is the video out yet? the single been release yet?

we can't blame this all on MTV or whomever it depends on the aritst and the label. Maybe Janet isn't wanting to be on MTV or maybe Virgin is holding back for a more upbeat single.

maybe
maybe
maybe
thats all true but it does seem like bad blood between MTV and Janet...
and Janet is more pop than RnB.

well i think justin punked out... and let janet take most of the blame... he tried to act like it was all janet's fault... also i used to have the biggest crush on him... but after the superbowl malfunction... i really dont like him at all.. he is a fake... trying to act cool... but he's really a big baby... did you guys see when he got punked on MTV lol eek it was so funny... I dont know why MTV isnt talking about Janet... they talk so much about Madonna and mariah... you would think that those are the only two major female celebrities.... hopefully janet will release a better song... and it will go to number one... and her album will sell millions.... so that those MTV jerks will feel stupid...

Wow, you'd think as a Madonna fan you'd be all *FOR* showing tits on TV.

Get over it. It was a lame stunt, but his reaction was even lamer than the setup and the fallout.

BTW, she apologized in a televised statement a few days after the SB, so I don't know what this "silent on the whole stint for two weeks" bullshit is. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Janet didn't get any airplay at all on MTV last time out as far as I remember. I already know what they are planning for this era considering she has announced the video is premiering on 106 & Park.

ANSWER: Janet & Justin

REASONS:

Madonna, Britney, & Christina were in the clear because they were on cable TV and the FCC policies doesn't apply to ANY pay TV network service.

FCC policies only applies to regular/public TV network.

i'm all for tits and ass all over tv... doesn't bother me a bit.

but what i'm trying to say is. It was Janet's ultimate decison to not wear a bra underneath her corset and thereby causing MTV and CBS to get fined. Justin didn't make her do it, MTV didn't make her do it, Jermaine Dupri didn't make her do it. Janet in the end had the final decison in her dressing room. If MTV choses not to play her videos because they were fined because she chose not to wear a bra... once again no one forced regardless of other parties information of the event. like it's my fault for not asking a partner to wear a condom and now i have HIV. it is their choice as a buisness. we are a free market society and they have the freedom to do what they want. Just like the chose not to play Justify My Love or Erotica or any video from American Life.

She isn't a victim here... she made a choice she has to deal with it. I'm sure if Justin had whipped out his dick it would have been the same thing.

Whether you like it or not, Justin is part of the equation, as he was involved and participated in the act.

And no, it would NOT be the same thing if he'd whipped out his cock. Janet's a woman and she's black. Hasn't Madonna taught you ANYTHING?????

Anyway, you've already made it clear that you don't know much about what happened during the Damita Jo era with that "two weeks of silence" bullshit. You probably think Justin didn't dump all the blame on her just because the kitchen got too hot. Hey, he's white, he can always leave the kitchen and go to the nice cool living room. And now he's back on MTV.

Sorry, you're wrong!

Janet WAS wear a red bra.

The EXACT plan was for Justin to ONLY pull the black leather breast cup off of Janet's S&M outfit. But instead, Justin pull the black leather breast cup AND the red bra!

if you look at the pictures of the breast cup the bra piece that was showing above the cup was sown on. It was a clean rip therefore it was planned for her to show her breast. My ex is a costume designer and he showed me what i was looking at.

Like I give a shit. lol

If Madonna hasn't impressed you with her thoughts on how much more harshly a woman will be judged in this world, then you haven't been paying attention.

By the way, Janet hasn't complained about having no MTV support, so I think she is "dealing with the consequences" just fine.

The point is the consequences should be the same for Justin. Done.

CORRECTION: Justin would have been fine & arrested by the court of law (like Jim Morrison decades earlier).

Yup take responiblity for your actions.

Once again... Janet and Janet alone made the final decison that day on what to wear. I believe Justin knew that was going to happen. But Janet is a big girl... if she wanted to reveal her breast on National TV she needs to be a big enough girl to handle the outcome.

Just like I know when I go to Palm Springs Pride and if i want to particpate in the Pride Parade I should make sure my ass is covered or else i'm going to jail. Seriously. A friend of mine last year got arrested and spent the night in jail for doing it. He isn't claiming he was wronged he just made a bad choice.

Your right she hasn't complained not once.... i just find it fucked up that they punished her and not him

Done.

You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Yeah, and then he'd be hailed as some sort of macho dude and his record sales and airplay would be through the roof.

Now if a BLACK man had done it.....hell naw.

the next song janet jackson released better be soo hot... that you canNOT help but love it... even if you hate her... you would still love the song... thats how good that song needs to be... also we all know as janet jackson fans that Janet that the "wardrobe malfunction" was done on purpose... and that janet must take all the consequences... even if her career is over... she should have thought about that... her music is already.. perverted enough that teenagers shouldnt be able to buy her albums... i would not let my 16 year old child listen her DJ or even AFY album... the only reason why i was able to get her albums is because I didnt know and my mom didnt know how perverted the albums where... anyways... janets needs to be able to target a wide range of fans.. and her albums are just for a small range... like how many 35-40 year olds are going to buy her albums... and how many 12-17 year olds are going to be allowed by their parents to buy janet's album.. after what happened with the superbowl
