GREAT gospel or inspirational songs (for non-church folks)

I know it's hard to believe but no, I don't go to church on a regular basis disbelief In fact, I rarely go boxed but lately I've been gathering songs that are not only inspirational but downright gospel omfg See, just the name of that emoticon is blasphemous disbelief disbelief

I only have a few but I'm curious about what else is out there. These stick out in my mind...

We Fall Down - Donnie McClurkin
Everything - Tye Tribbett & GA

I keep them all on my "Inspired" playlist so some songs have a very spiritual feel...

Pass Me Over - Anthony Hamilton
The Word/And God Created Woman - Princey
Higher - D'Angelo

... and some are inspired in other ways - via delivery or message or just the way they make me feel...

I Found My Everything/One/Good Woman Down - Mary J. Blige
Rise/NYCG - Martin Luther
Precious/Daredevil, Baby - Van Hunt
Shadows - TTD
Tomorrow - Tevin Cambell
Mountains/Eye No/Sweet Baby - Princey
True Love - Al Green
So Have I For You - Nikka Costa
There For You - Damien Marley
Cleva/Orange Moon - Erykah Badu
I Keep/Still Here - Jill Scott
So High/Ordinary People - John Legend
Vienna - Billy Joel
Special - Janet Jackson
Sweet Baby - Macy Gray

I need to expand my tracklist, so here's the question: what inspirational songs (gospel particularly) do you listen to? hmmm

.

I could be here all day answering this one.... eek

Here's a very abbreviated list...

Inspirational;

The One. Elton John
One of Us, C. Crow
I Wanna Know What Love Is, Foreigner
Hero, M. Carey
Bridge Over Troubled Water, Jermaine Jackson
The World Is A Ghetto, WAR
Choice of Colors, Curtis Mayfield
Innervisions, Stevie Wonder
Redemption Song, Bob Marley
Pearls, Sade

Princey gets his own list...
The Love We Make
Anna Stesia
Purple Rain
Beautiful Strange
Power Fanstastic
Get On The Boat
Free
Elephants and Flowers
Willing and Able
Gold
I Would Die 4 U
One Song

Gospel
Anything by James Cleveland, especially Peace Be Still
Anything by the Staples Singers, especially Will Circle Be Unbroken
Anything by Mahalia Jackson, especially I Couldn't Keep It To Myself and His Eye Is On The Sparrow.

2 must have gospel albums...
If You Believe, by Brook Benton is the only gospel album he ever recorded. This man's exquisite voice will bring you to your knees.
Amen, by the Wings Over Jordan Choir is sung completely a capella. Powerful!

These last two are quite rare, but could probably be found at a store specializing in vinyl. Well worth the time and trouble to find.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Freespirit

Yolanda Adams is definitely religiously full of beautiful gospel. I absolutely love her music, her music has spoken/inspired me on numerous occasions.

~Open My Heart
~Never Give Up
~I Gotta Believe
~I'm Thankful

(This whole album is renewing for me) I am listening now... music

Howard Hewett another one. ~Call His Name heart
His album 'The Journey Live From The Heart' is truly fantastic.
~Mercy
~Joy
~The Journey
... fallinluv

But the songs that sing with a similar feel that come to mind...

Mariah Carey~ Fly Like Bird
Chante Moore~This Moment is Mine
Peebles (remember Pebbles?)~ Long Way To Travel (continues to be an all time favorite, since 1995)
Sarah McLachlan (omg) where do I start. ~Lost (this one...)
~Witness
~Angel
~Full Of Grace

(I can be here all day...)
Prince... well I feel if you are here... it is a natural given.

...

I higly function on a Spiritual sense, not a precise religious sense. rose
***Music such as this... is truly what talked to me when I needed some sense in my life. When I (personally) couldn't find savior anywhere else.
