not any that i've heard. If you go to his official website: www.pookieentertainment.com they have some pretty updated stuff, but no news on touring or albums and what not. neutral

your welcome biggrin

it was quite a boring performance i must say, but you don't really see him perform much, so thats why i got all excited when i saw it. i love his voice too, but it was quite shakey while he kept walking back and forth and playing the guitar. But this song was the worst off the album, imo.

while he has some great tunes on his own albums i much prefer him when he is either working with a group or as a producer.

nod

i think he's one of those people who...when collaborating with other artists...is at his height of creativity and it works..

but then when he tries it on himself, it doesn't quite capture the same magic as when he is working with others....i did like his first album better than the second, but at first i couldn't even get into "gospeldelic"...it took me almost a few years of listening on and off, believe it or not, to fully appreciate it.

When Lucy Pearl's album first came out, I bought it and couldn't put that cd down for months.

well, i seem to enjoy prince's music much more when he is influenced or working with others...ie, andre cymone, dez and morris at the beginning...the revolution, the lovesexy band and the original npg. lately his albums have been one man band events (ie, rave, musicology and 3121) and theres a certain element and energy that goes missing...imho.

oh okay i see exactly what you are saying. i think P is just weird that way. He only works when people when HE feels like it. but live, when he performs those songs, its so exciting, because it isn't just HIM performing, he has other people with him....i get you. biggrin

Thise that don't like his live stuff need to get his All Hits At The House Of Blues CD. It's one fot he top 5 best live CDs I own. D'Angelo, Tony Toni Tone, Joi, and Ledisi appear on that CD as well. His band is truly the bomb on that CD.

My friend was playing this CD today and I was digging it! I hadn't heard All I Asked Of You in a long time and it sounded fresh on this set. I'm definitely buying this and Instant Vintage sometime this week!
