Pussycat Dolls ready 6th single Had to get this post in, since Nicole is an old friend. Though many of you may dislike them, i think, they are one of the few "Pop" groups that brings diversity somewhat in their songs and shows, and also has a female singer that knows how to "sing" and not just scream the same note over and over. What even surprised me in this day an age of albums coming and going, their cd has held in the top 40 for close to a year peaking at Number 5 and now back in the top 20, has spawned 5 singles and 4 top 10's. The label has already confirmed a 6th single also, the next album is being worked on. And a few weeks ago PCD did something i think only Phil Collins has done, they played a night concert in Ireland then flew to NYC and did the GMA concert in the Park and then flew back to England to play a show that night to date the record is closing in on 2 million in US sales, and 5+ million worldwide, i know everyone loves numbers so i thought id post this. It should also be noted that usually songs now have high debuts, with each PCD single its been a struggle, all of them have debuted in the 80-90 range and climbed slowly, just like the old days

I cannot hate on Nicole because the girl can sing and is very sexy in a confident way. The others are merely window dressing. It is all about Nicole's solo career. | |

Well alot of people say that but trust me, a solo record is not in the plans, yet, though Nicole has turned up a few CDs as a guest vocalist lately, the next PCD cd will feature more input from Melody on some leads, and Nicole will write most of the album, she co-wrote a few on this one, but she is looking to to do most of the next one. Nicole will one day be solo, but she will surprise alot of people with her choice of material, if u have heard the PCD album think what she did on "Feelin Good" and imagine a whole record of that. Well, that's a pity....Nicole is the only reason to listen to any of their records, as far as I'm concerned. I find it hilarious that the PCD liner notes say, "All lead and background vocals by Nicole S..." Why bother trying to develop the vocals of the other members when they have none? It's pointless. So PCD for her is the outlet, to get her well known to a certain point and then she can do a total 360 and hit people with something else. Plus she told me, that alot people laugh when they see the name "Scherzinger" on a CD. If u get a chance to catch PCD live, do it! Especially in a smaller club enviroment, in 2004 thats what i did here in NYC, no one had a clue who they were, "Buttons" was the showstopper even then, the live version is much better, and quite Hot. There is a bit of talent outside Nicole. The sista in the group can sing her ass off. I heard them on a talk show and the sista co-lead a song with Nicole and in my opinion bested her on THIS performance. Why she doesn't get more vocal time is beyond me. Well, no its not. I haven't heard all the singles yet. So far in Germany they've only released Don'tcha, Stick With You, Beep (which was out for about a minute)...I think Buttons just started getting rotation a couple of weeks ago. I was always under the impression that the lead (Nicole?) was the only one putting down vocals while the other girls just danced . | |
