Where the hell is Maxwell?

Indeed, R&B crooner Maxwell has been quietly soaring under the radar screen for a handful of years now. In fact, he hasn't put out an album since 2001! But don't count him out just yet. He is currently in the studio producing what will be his most recent work of art. The expected release date is not yet known, but knowing Maxwell, it'll be well worth the wait. Maxwell shot himself in the foot when he outed himself and said "Yes I'm Bi" on Atlanta radio. His record label probably told him to lay low for awhile. Perhaps his public has forgotten (and hopefully doesn't really care) that he swings both ways.

I don't believe that! If he were bi or gay, I seriously doubt he would come out and admit it because his audience is mostly female.

I'm the only one who's heard this? Supposedly what happened was Maxwell had a falling out with his hairdresser who was gay. His hairdresser started going around giving interviews and outing Maxwell as being bisexual. So rather than deny the allegations, when asked if he were bisexual...he said "yes I am". Now, maybe this was nothing more than the "Whitney Houston died on 9/11" rumor; but it kind of made you wonder why Sony all of a sudden stopped promoting his album at the time "Now". I wish Maxwell the best of luck; and had I known that this wasn't a widely publicized "rumor" I wouldn't have written anything about it in the first place....sorry

Sigh....and so the crucifixion begins. I already stated that this was obviously a "Rumor" and obviously not a wide spread one either as I'd thought it was. I never said I heard it with my own ears; but I did hear the story from several different people who don't all associate in the same circles. Perhaps it was a local "Joke" who knows and who cares? It's very obvious from the responses within this thread that his sexual status WOULD NOT make a difference whether or not you'd buy his records. Look at Elton John, Mick Jagger, David Bowie; their sexual preference never hurt their record sales or popularity. I just thought perhaps this "rumor" was true because immediately after it started, you heard nothing more about "Now"; and that album had quite a few more singles that could have been released.
BTW: is Maxwell really Tabloid material? Come on.

This has been going on 4 a while now.

The real rumour is that Sony put the halt on his album, because of "homoerotic" lyrics.

It's all over the web.

Who knows what the Truth is... who cares.

It should be all about the music anyway...

They was a rumor last year about his record label shelving his album he wanted to record explicit sexual songs about him and another man.

I've heard something of this sort... but who cares, goshdarnit... bring on new Maxwell music.
