another "lost" "black" rock band:stress I dug through some old cd's last night and pulled out a cd called STRESS by the group called Stress. They seem to be of African decent, but maybe a little multi-culti.Anyway,they are brown dudes. They came out in the very early '90's and had a minor hit with "flowres in the rain".It seems the record company was trying to capitalize on Lenny Kravitz's sound a little.I listened a bit since I haven't heard it in a while and it's not half bad.I'm a sucker for this kinda' groove anyway. The lead singer is a little weird looking with a big flop of curly hair ,but his voice is pretty cool.I'll give it some more spins,I think. That's what happened with punk as well. They sign all these bands and hope something will stick, but they abondon a bunch of good bands.
The Black Rock Coalition did a pretty shitty job making their voices heard. I know, the record companies and radio are pretty strict, with their narrow views of who should be rockers. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Yea, the Family Stand died, because of the same trend. They were too rock for blacks, too funk/soul for skanking white boys. We have a very trendy society. Too bad the main trend is the gutter. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Yep!! I love bands like this.I loved the rock bands that got the love, too.I just wish they all could be around making music. Us, listeners miss out because of this.I support music as much as I possibly can..because it supports me! I need a good billion dollars.I'll straighten some things out. Reminds me of other mixed-race bands from that time like Dan Reed Network and Maggie's Dream.

sextonseven said: Maggie's Dream The most notable thing about Maggie's Dream is that lead singer Robi Rosa used to also sing lead in Menudo. Robi (top) and Ricky Martin (far right) Robi "Draco" Rosa now:

I suppose it's possible as they were both Mercury artists at one point. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
