Didn't Tyra make crazy millions by parading around in underwear showing her tits and ass?

So what do we do? Say that the woman who models bras and panties, whether it's for K-Mart or Victoria's Secret is perpetrating the same image as the girl who who turns around, hikes an oiled, thonged, ass up to a camera and claps her cheeks like a cat in heat? I thought we were talking about sexuality in a level of degrees, and trying to discuss when exactly do you cross the lines of taste.
Girls who model lingerie don't bother me. Nudity definitely doesn't bother me...but I don't know, something about seeing women lead around on a dog collar in a Snoop video irritates the hell out me neutral

biggrin
the ass clappers repulse me as well, i'm just saying to each their own.
we all know that strippers, hookers, porn actresses all have a history of sexual abuse somewhere in their backgrounds. they find value in using their boldies. it's what they've been taught. i wrote in another response that we should just pray for them, 'cause some women are just like that. they are actually convinced that they have a skill and worse, a future in doing that shit.

don't get me wrong about tyra, i was just being impish. but i do remember that there was some protest from these lifeless moms who thought the victoria secret show on network t.v. was inappropriate for kids. eek

BET does need something to spruce up their Sunday programing....all that church screaming(pastors and choirs) gets on my fucking nerves....

Back in the day they use to have cool programming on Sundays: they had a news broadcast that showed the latest current events that might be of interest to the black community; Bev Smith had her show with panel discussions of everything from art to history to community issues; there was a finance program explaining and discussing everything you ever wanted to know about money- how to make it, how to keep it, how to invest it, how to pass it on down...

...it's a shame, but BET has lost it's focus and intention so much in terms of being a well rounded resource for the black community that the only two choices you get with them is the PULPIT or the POLE, and it's doing us an incredible disservice...where's the middle ground? Where's the balance in between?

Well said, I don't mind if they show their church things for a time but this all day affair forces me to make other choices.
It's like they are trying to attone for the semi-smut they show throughout the week.
But, I can't blame them for the crap they have been showing for the past few years, it's all black musicians have been producing, a wave of nauseating music and videos.
What they need to do is have alot more old-school video programs, maybe this will educate the new-school about class in the industry.

He did not have to pay anything.....He just had to asked, Janet for permission.

Oh. I wonder how much Janet charged him.

I don't think they were together at the time, or not as serious as they are now.
So he might have gotten a pass on that one.

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GONNA GET IT? THE PARTY'S OVER. B.E.T. is VIACOM! Its Mtv/Mtv2/VH-1/BET. You're never going to get what you want from them. You'll get what they want you to have. That would be reality shows, dating shows, celeb-worship shows, shows making fun of shows and a few music vids paid for by the big 3 (major labels). B.E.T. Uncut gave independants hope that they could get a little airtime if they shot a video in "that" format. The idea is what's being killed, not just the show. The idea that the little man can get in. 106th & Park aka the black TRL is the present and future of B.E.T. Hell, they got rid of the NEWS! If that isn't a hint and a half for yo azz, I don't know what is.

Oh great. A WEAKLY uh, I mean, weekly B.E.T. blog-news opinionatorial (yes, I just made that up) commentary show designed to trick people into thinking they are being informed. More nonesense about stuff that the community cares nothing of. Grime culture in the UK? WTF? WHO CARES? What about CRIME culture in the US? And look at the time slot! 11:00a.m. on a Sunday! They know black folks are at church then!
