hey Calhoun, here's the infamous "Tip Drill" video (director's cut) if you want to see it

Have you seen Mighty Casey's White Girls video.

IMHO, THAT video is far worse because I know some of these rednecks from the red states would want to hurt Casey for all of the bad things he said about white girls.

Thank goodness that tripe is off the air. It was long overdue. And even without the nakedness, the rappers on the show were drop dead horrible and they had to use sex to cover how bad they were. Not making any excuses cause I'm excited that it's gone but that's what I noticed the occasional times I stayed on watched Uncut. It was lamer than lame.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

this is just utter bullshit confused

simpleton, there is a difference as to which happens in your bedroom versus ya ass being swiped with a credit card in a video.

After watching the director's cut of Tip Drill, I can't help but to ask this question to all of the women that have seen THIS video:

What the hell was she thinking in allowing ANY MAN (let alone Nelly, a recording artist) to swipe a credit card between her booty?

It's too easy to blame male rap artists & video directors for wanting to film these kinds of controversial scenes (sex sells, remember?). But what about these women (video vixen, video hoes, etc.) that really wanted to be in THESE KINDS of videos.

These women (black, white, latina, asian, whatever) ALWAYS have a choice. They don't have to do this. No matter how bad they need the money or the exposure, they don't have to allow themselves to go through this foolishness of having their bodies & self-respect abuse like this.

AND ONE other thing to all women & men:

What if Tip Drill was a Lil' Kim video? What if Kim were to take her credit card and swipe between a man butt, would the outrage be the same from both male & female critics? Or would there be a double standard between the genders?

EDIT: THIS question might become a thread in itself.

I think I would still take issue on some level if it was a lil'kim video instead because I'm wondering how did we get to this level of sexual exploitation. Yes, t&a has always sold but damn. Young women are feeling more and more that their bodies are their commodity vs their brains and talent. And before I hear anyone say that i'm saying this because I'm ugly, fat or whatever, uh...NO. Even as a young woman, when I wore sexy clothing, I did all I could not to look slutty. There WAS a difference. Now there's no line.

Women SHOULD be on ther forefront of stopping this madness but as we can see, when you do have women to speak up about this sort of thing (referring to the Jill Scott thread), women are criticized for not what they've said BUT that they aren't pretty enough to say it. eek

What's wrong with some of these men taking a stand on their videos and say that they will not objectify women.

Its not that there's never been this sort of thing but its now just going overboard. Even our more "mature" artists are running around naked when they should be setting the example (Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey).

Its too much.

Can any of you honestly say that you actually cared one way or another whether or not a show that comes on at 3 a.m. gets cancelled or not? B.E.T. Uncut wasn't even the least bit of an intrusion on most peoples' lives and no reasonable person could use the "what about the kids" excuse because if your kids are up to see it, there's a lot more you need to fix in your household than B.E.T. Uncut.
B.E.T. Uncut was relatively insignificant when it comes to youth. It was just some dumb shit for fools to watch after they came home from the club without getting laid.
"Well, I couldn't pull no females up in the spot; at least B.E.T. Uncut is on."
It was just titilation and anyone is three or four mouse clicks away at any given moment from far more degrading stuff than "Uncut" right on the internet. Turn the filter off in Google preferences and almost anything you type in would eventually yield some porn.
Uncut was a "service" more or less because it was the ONLY way to see new rap & R&B videos by artists who didn't have a budget to go the Clear Channel route. Yes, a lot of the vids were ass-shaking vids BUT, many may not know this. They would usually air an up-and-coming new video by a mainstream artist on Uncut before the offical release. They did that with "Trapped In The Closet" and many others. They basically beta-tested select videos using Uncut. I remember seeing Mike Jone's first video on there LONG before it made it to regular rotation. All-in-all, it wasn't all that significant to anyone who wasn't up at 3. Now that B.E.T. is owned by Viacom and Viacom is completely running the network, they'll probably air infomercials. Its not like they give a damn about a viewing audience.

Oh I'm not giving up at all. I do believe it can all change AND I do think that all women have the right to say what they feel is right in this matter.

Tyra is given the pass to say whatever because some would say she has the RIGHT to speak up which is so silly.

Honestly (and I know the men here will skewer me for this) but I don't think it would be as terrible if it were a woman doing the same act to a man for the simple fact that men are not sexually objectified even 50% as much as women are so the image is ultimately less detrimental IMO. It's not drummed into people's heads over & over & over, day after day, minute after minute that a man's only purpose is to provide sex. Until we get anywhere near that point (which we never will) it just doesn't have the same impact & doesn't do as much damage.[/b]

Of course women are sexually objectified. Much in the same way, MEN ARE MONETARILY OBJECTIFIED. I'll go THERE another time.
People try so hard to fight human nature. Looking at women excites about 90% of the male population. What else are we on this Earth for if not to reproduce? You have to be taught EVERYTHING you know from when you are a baby; everything except things like pain, hunger, sexual attraction and so on. Some people are taught to go against their nature and then go through life trying to force everyone else into thinking the same way. Unfortunately there are those that abuse nature's gift of sexual attraction for monetary gains. The media uses this all the time for the sole purpose of consumerism. That is wrong. What is NOT wrong is a man getting an erection from finding a wman attractive. As a man I will not apologize for getting wood. No amount of Oprah, Dr. Phil or any other antagonist is going to guilt me into apologizing for being born with a penis. American society is whipping the shit out of men in general for just that on a daily basis and frankly, I'm a little sick of it.
Yes, Beyonce, Mya, Kylie, Britney, etc. are FINE
Yes, I am looking at them jiggle their goods because I find it attractive
NO I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE FOR IT and if any of you women jiggle in front of me there's a good chance that I'll find your asses exciting, too (whether I'll admit it or not).
I will NOT apologize for being a man.
I will NOT apologize for having a penis nor the erections that it brings. I don't see it as wrong and no one can convince me otherwise, ESPECIALLY NOT A WOMAN (cough, cough Oprah, cough)
I WILL treat women with respect and not act on animalistic natures.
You have to understand though, as long as there's money, there will be women willing to use what they have to get it and there will be men willing to spend it to get women and that is beyond my or any other individual's control and the best any of us can do is to try and instill enough self-worth in impressionable young minds so that the tempataions of living in that way are less appealing.
Make no mistake about it though, women ARE here to be DESIRED (desired, not objectified) by men and vice-versa. Its what keeps the planet populated. Everything else people teach to the contrary is bullshit made up by those who have an agenda. Nature will always win.

"I will not apologize for getting wood." falloff

Blaque, I'm not dogging men for being attracted to women, getting wood, wanting to see an ass shake - I'm really not lol

I really don't think I'm a prude about this shit - as much as I objectify Prince's little ass, have my own porn stash, etc innocent

What I am saying (which I know you understand but somehow I feel the need to reiterate wink ) is that young women are in crisis when it comes to their sense of worth in this world, and young Black women are in the most danger for various reasons - being constantly bombarded with this kinda stuff ain't helping.

I agree with you in a sense that a program that airs @ 3am is not going to make much difference in terms of "the children" lol but there ARE some men (young and old) that are in need of some balance too. Yes, you are respectful & know that a woman is more than an object of your desire - but can you say that for every man? NO...

I guess for me I'm just happy to see this stuff take a little hit. I truly didn't mind when 2 Live Crew had their shit back in the day b/c it was a small segment of music videos doing this - now it's literally ALL WE SEE from popular Black music. It's rampant, it's damaging, it's enough.

Sex is fine, but when the line gets blurred so much people forget there's a PERSON under all that ass, it's just beyond.

I also think men forget (or don't remember to try & empathize) what it's like to be on the receiving end of that kind of objectification, because it does spill over to the women who don't participate in this shit. They don't know what it's like to have a dude (or a group of dudes) roll up on you like he's gonna beat your ass if you don't give him a number, smile right, say the right shit - it's fucking scary. Someone being that ignorant is not because of all this stuff BUT this stuff aids the dehumanization of women & it simply doesn't help. I think about what it was like when I was growing up & I can only imagine what it must be like for younger girls today given the climate. Let's think about our daughters for a minute, put them loins to the side...
