some of the interesting tidbits in this book...
***MJ fans will go crazy when Quincy talks about the making of the 'Thriller' album. He talks about the day that they played the finished album for Epic Records. It was a disaster,MJ started crying and they had to rush back into the studio.Apparently, there were too many songs, the sound wasn't right and other problems."Billie Jean" had to be edited and Michael was crushed. ***Quincy did the music for the film 'The Color Purple',which Steven Spielberg directed.According to Quincy, the lead role was offered to Tina Turner but she turned it down, saying "I don't wanna do a black movie!" Needless to say,Quincy was taken aback by that comment. ***Quincy is the owner and founder of Vibe magazine and in 1995,he considered putting Madonna and her then-boyfriend Dennis Rodman on the cover. The plan was for her to interview him and vice versa. But he chickened out, fearing that the mostly urban (translation:black) audience would object to having her on the cover She was understandably upset but in retrospect, she should be glad.Dennis turned out to be a snake and I think she would probably like to forget her involvement with him, lol. Trust me folks, this book is an interesting read | |
