This has been stuck in my head for days. I played it on the way to work today and it really kickstarted things in a very good way. I have been in a great mood since. This is just a very motivating rock song.Great for quiet reflection.Hee hee!

"Would", Down In The Hole" and "Rooster" are the mack daddy AIC songs. (IMO)

"Them Bones" and "Man In The Box" are great too.

I feel ya on that one. Must be something about Alice in Chains that makes you keep certain song on constant repeat. For me its Nutshell. I ususally play it at least 3 times before moving on to the next song.

I've been listening to "Fear the Voices" a lot. Dig them vocal harmonies and falsettos. Jerry Cantrell was/is a cool guitar player and songwriter. Talented group all around.

I love Alice in Chains...what an awesome band. Jerry Cantrell's solo efforts were good also. Yes "Them Bones" is a cool song.

Preaching to the choir. "Dirt" is one of the best albums OF ALL TIME. I play AIC every day. IMO, Layne Staley(RIP) was one of rock's greatest vocalists(right up there with Chris Cornell). Damn Layne, why'd you have to leave us?

I could play "Them Bones", "Would", "Heaven Beside You", "No Excuses", "Grind", "Damn that River" one hundred times a day.

I believe

Gonna end up

I agree with you all!AIC is definitely one of my favorite rock groups. I loved Soundgarden, too and Nirvana, but AIC had me from day one.I fisrt heard Man In Box and I was hooked. I though Layne's vocal's were so unusual and powerful then,he started harmonizing and trading off with Jerry Cantrell and you had one of the greatest vocal duos ever! They have so many cool songs!I love Dirt,Facelift,Sap,Jar of Flies, etc.!!Just really great stuff!(I think I'm the only person who loves "am i inside" on sap) Unfortunately, when I heard Dirt ,I knew Layne wouldn't be here with us long.He was too far gone.He was still so good at what he was doing, but he loved the dark side so much.I read an interview around that time and he was further explaining his love for drugs. He was smart enough to know it would kill him,but he couldn't help it. He just let what would be,be.He embraced it. And Cantrell is just one really tight guitarist. They had it all!!The rhythm section stayed together and allowed the guitar to lead the way while the vocals of Layne just bended and stretched around it all to find the openings it needed.Just an incredible group. I still remember turning a frind on to them.He had been a Rush diehard and I told him about AIC.He was skeptical until we rode around Atlanta speeding and listening to "rooster".He was blown away. He never doubted me again.

AIC brought something very special to rock. Great songs, very cool melodies. Layne and Jerry were such a great team. What I love about those songs is Layne's harmonies ("I Stay Away" is a perfect example). They were so original, beautiful and inspiring. I still enjoy their MTV Unplugged album, but I also plan on going back and picking up their other discs. They are a band worthy of purchasing the entire catalogue.

Did anyone see AIC performing with Heart on VH1? I forgot his name, but the new lead singer sounded pretty good.

One of their best! I love this song. As good as it is, it's even better loud and live. I used to play out the whole Dirt album. I had sort of a gross rock star crush on Layne Staley.

He was sweaty, dirty, high, lanky, blonde - the exact opposite of the clean cut nerdy type I usually go for. It made me feel naughty...and I like it. I liked it! drool

Well Layne grew up with money and could have easly been a clean cut coke user instead of a dirty heroin addict. Al Jourgensen? Hot or Not?

'Them Bones' is great, but 'Would' is in a class by itself. One of the best songs ever written. The opening is killer.
