The stage production was great. Nice use of lights and film.
Bauhaus ruled though. Best Bauhaus performance I've ever seen of the four shows I've attended. Peaches wasn't bad. She did her best to work a mostly empty amphitheater. Loved her appearance during the Bauhaus set.

At the NY show, during "Bela Lugosi's Dead", this goth woman comes out in a long black dress, stands over one of the elevated stage lights and slowly raises and lowers her dress throughout the song. It was very over the top spooky. Peter introduced her as the great Mia Morgul (of the Romanian blood line of Dracul himself). I later found out it was all a big joke and it was really Peaches dressed in goth clothing.

I saw the Peaches interview on the Henry Rollins Show last night on IFC. She was very cool so I probably will get the new album. She's also playing solo here in New York on July 22nd. If I wasn't already committed to another show that night, I would have gone.

Say what you want about the music, but the visual display on the NIN tour this year is pretty hard to top. I was having eye-orgasms. clarification edit [Edited 7/9/06 14:00pm]

Eh she's the only reason i almost bought tix to that show. i've kinda had enough of NIN's schtick and once you've seen one bauhaus reunion gig you've seen 'em all (though it's really good)...ya never know what's going to happen at a peaches show, though.

That's what I thought about Bauhaus too, but their NY show with Trent put all the other ones I've seen to shame. . [Edited 7/10/06 10:12am]

YOu're very lucky I like you. The singer from Bauhaus looks like Neil Diamond.

I saw NIN/Bauhaus here in Houston, and I have to say it was an incredible show. NIN put on one helluva light show. It wasn't the best show ever or anything, and I certainly wouldn't elevate them to the status of deity, but it was pretty awesome.
I'd never seen Bauhaus live before, and quite frankly they were the primary reason I wanted to go. I enjoyed their set, but a couple of things were a bit...off, for me. First off, the venue was outdoors, and The Woodlands puts an 11:00 curfew on all shows, so Bauhaus had to go on when it was still daylight. Now, this isn't their fault, but it just seemed wrong to see them perform when the sun was still up. It has shattered my illusions that they are all undead, and that Peter Murphy is the REAL Vampire Lestat. Second, they skipped playing "Bela Legosi's Dead". Sure, this song is the big gorilla of their catalogue, and ordinarily I like it when artists skip over their more well known tracks in favour of obscurities, but somehow it felt wrong to me here. I dunno, to me, that song has always seemed like the catalyst for the goth movement. To skip over such an important track, especially when playing in front of lots of little goth kids who have no idea how much Bauhaus is responsible for their little subculture, well, it bugged me. At least they played "Dark Entries". Overall, I'm nitpicking here. Both NIN and Bauhaus were fantastic, and I'd love to see them both again.
