Its like everything else, he just has done too much, when you become popular everyone wants to work with you, especially today, nobody can do anything alone, I mean in todays market if it sells then everyone jumps on it and sells it till u wanna vomit. I dont really look at pharrell as really being a "great" producer because he hasnt brought something special out of an artist, so in that respect he is this decades Puffy, and soon im sure Pharrell will be considered a joke like Puffy was for a few years, just like JD was for a few years. But i do fault Pharrell and JD and few others for the stagnation in RB music, because they are popular, they havent pushed the envelope and challenged the listener they just feed them the same crap over and over, now the difference between that and an Artist like Prince would be, right after Purple Rain hit them with Around the World in a Day, id like to see someone today take a chance.

Isn't Prince the one who is truly played out? Remember, the is the one who has to entertain, using Pharrell's sound, not the other way around.

Have u heard Bossy by Kelis...that's funkier than anything on 3121.....

why do u think Prince begged him to remix the greatest romance?

Pharrell had to ask him to do the remix to "greatest" he had a rough copy and approached P about it....Pharrell hasn't created anything that will stand the test of time...have you played something that Pharrell has done 20 months ago? His stuff is fast food fries....only good while it's hot.

You got access to Pharrell's vault? I didn't think that he had HALF that many songs....they must be like the guy on "In living color".....20 seconds long..

Historical revisionism is such an ugly thing.

Back to the initial question:

I don't think he his played out, but he should stick to what he does best: production. The solo material, however, is a different matter. I can't stand him as an MC and can just about tolerate his singing. I will reserve my total judgement until after his CD drops. But if it is still proposed to be spilt between half rap/RNB, I can guarantee half of it will be quite poor.

He's at least right about that. Pharrell played drums on "I Saw Her Standing There" on the Grammys a few years back.

At age 15 you think you have music knowledge. Hilarious.

Yeah, I'm sure Prince BEGGED Pharrell to remix his song.

Oh, and "Bossy" is pure shit. Trust me on that one, underling.
