does anyone have Bjork "Surrounded" yet?

?

what i would like to know is if early reports on the boxset tracklists
were right and the outtake "Petrolatum" is now included on "D.R.9".

i've been wondering about this song ever since it appeared on björk's
official site, on the tracklist of the album pre-release.

then the album hit the stores and the song wasn't on it. i could not
find any info on it anywhere so i started to think i might have made
it up myself, lol. until i saw a tracklisting for the new boxset of
surround sound remasters of her albums and Petrolatum popped up once
again on the tracklist of Drawing Restraint 9.

i'm so curious about this song now.

anyone?

the only bjork item i bought twice was her video compilation DVD, and even then i had the choice to buy the volumen addendum DVD but didn't see the point in it.

i love me some bjork, but there are maybe one or two artists whose reissues i'm sucker enough to buy over and over again. and even THEN, i have my limits. hmph!

i've never been a big audiophile. i always bliss out when i hear 5.1 at other people's houses, but it doesn't move me enough to get a system of my own.

My copy of Medulla was a hybrid CD/SACD with 5.1 mix and I loved it. In fact never play the stereo mix. I don't know if that was the international version shrug

And I always thought post might improve in sound quality nod

Sometimes waiting pays.
I remember the Eurythmics Boxed was half priced just about two months later at hmv.co.uk. I posted the link here and one orger thanked me for the bargain he got. (Though I had payed the full price)

Yeah, you kinda need the system set up first in order to appreciate dualdiscs.

i got the talking heads brick more to have the whole studio catalog in one place w/ videos and visuals. one day i'll have a schmancy system and enjoy the 5.1, and i'll never leave the house.

I'd rather have 2 disc sets (1 hybrid CD+sacd and 1 DVD ).Mute does that with artists like Goldfrapp's latest or the Depeche Mode remasters.

Many Players have problems playing DualDiscs (the Cd side fails to meet Red Book and CD changers damage "the other side" they're playing)

I'll take anything that I can play in my DVD player as opposed to going out and buying a new piece of hardware like an SACD player just to play a few discs. SACDs are useless to me.

I only buy hybrids as I said before. You can always listen to the CD without having to turn it around if you ain't got a SACD player
As to the sound quality, my ears notice a difference between SACD and DVD but I couldn't tell which one I like best

Colorless to yellowish-white hydrocarbon mixture obtained by fractional distillation of petroleum.

In its jellylike semisolid form (known as petroleum jelly and also by several trade names) it is used in preparing medicinal ointments and for lubrication.

As a nearly colorless, highly refined liquid known as liquid petrolatum, liquid paraffin, or mineral oil, it is used as a lubricant, as a laxative, and as a base for nasal sprays.

i can play dualdiscs, but my laptop won't let me burn the music content of a dualdisc on to my mp3 player. i can only listen to them on my stereo. kind of frustrating, but it also forces me to listen to those CDs "the old fashioned way", i suppose. rolleyes

I checked my copy last night and "Petrolatum" is on the 'DR9' DVD side only. I've only listened to one of the discs so far ('Homogenic') and of the other six, 'DR9' is not very high on my list of listening priority so it will be awhile before I can actually say what that track sounds like.

That is SO not true. Yeah, she's taken a slightly different path with her music (Which I am not that fond of...this new direction). However, her music is anything but mediocre...anything BUT pop...and is far far far away from that wishing well. SHe's probably one of the biggest musical innovators of our time...ALWAYS pushing the envelope with her creativity in music REGARDLESS of what the pop culture scene is at the time or what her fans are wanting to hear.
