"Kung Fu Fighting" Song Appreciation Thread

One of my all time favorite songs is "Kung Fu Fighting"

This thread is for all who love it... music

There have been tons of versons of it over the years...

I love Patti Rothberg's cover of it (heard in Beverly Hills Ninja), as well as Bus Stop's and Fun Thomas' covers also. Maybe this means I just love this song in general... music

And here is some quick info about the song for those who care to read it..

"Kung Fu Fighting" is a song performed by Carl Douglas. It was released as a single in 1974, at the cusp of a chopsocky film craze, and quickly rose to the top of British and American charts. It was originally meant to be a B-side to "I Want to Give You My Everything" by Brooklyn songwriter Larry Weiss, and was recorded in the last ten minutes of his studio time. This song has been featured prominently in pop culture including Mott's Clamato advertisements.
The song is also famous for its use of the quintessential Asian Riff - a short musical phrase that is used to signify Asian culture.
The song remains one of the most fondly remembered one hit wonders in the UK (though some dispute that it is a true one hit wonder as Douglas had two further hits that did not reach the top 30). It appeared at number one in Channel 4's Top 10 One Hit Wonders list in 2000 and again in the station's 50 Greatest One Hit Wonders poll in 2006. It was also included in another 2006 programme for Channel 4, Bring Back... the 1 Hit Wonders, for which Carl Douglas performed the song in a live concert.

YAY!
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

This song was the theme song for WDCA-20's Saturday afternoon kung-fu film marathon, in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Those were the days...
