I am SOOOOO disappointed. This song is utter crap, unmemorable, dull... I mean it has some potential, but come on, give me some melody for Christ's sake! The beat is nice but the production sounds like European techno from mid 1990s! Besides, it merely rips off Maneater... Has Timbaland's artistic demise got into full swing?

check out the absurdity of this statement:

www.mtv.com/news/articles...lines=true

"I wanted to sing the song like a rock and roll singer, not an R&B singer," he said. "That's the approach."

Timberlake modeled himself after David Bowie and Prince, and describes "SexyBack" as Bowie and David Byrne covering James Brown's "Sex Machine." "That's the closest I could come," he said. "That's all of my influences for that song."

"SexyBack" doesn't qualify as rock or straight funk — and for now, Timberlake's happy with the description "club funk."

you know, that's exactly what i thought when i heard the song...

At least he's aiming real high. James Brown, David Byrne and David Bowis all in one song? That's a tall order even for a seasoned artist.

From the mtv.com story on Justin’s new single, "Sexyback":

The singer fleshed out the concept for the clip with director Michael Hausmann, picked for his work on Madonna’s "Take a Bow."

"It’s one of my favorite videos Madonna’s ever done," Timberlake said. "Even today, I still remember the visuals, the images, how he captured her. A lot of times, Madonna seems like she’s the person in control, and in that video, she seemed vulnerable. It was a cool thing to see."

Because "SexyBack" isn’t exactly about Timberlake’s vulnerable side (in the song, he boasts, "If that’s your girl, better watch your back"), the video will have a very different approach than "Take a Bow."

"It’s like a small film," Timberlake said, without giving away the details. "I’ve yet to see it. I hope it’s cool."
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I thought it sounded like Janet, too.

Anyway, I'm ashamed to say that I really like this song.

Most of the people in Music: Non-Prince haven't really been into Prince for at least 10 years now and don't hang out on Princ: Music & More. Hell, even Ben is over Prince. C'mon, you know better. no no no!

Quite simple. Most of you will be the people with your drinks in the club belly aching about how this song is this and that, while the rest of the party is out on the dancefloor.

This is a GREAT club song. THIS is how you promote an album, with an awsome club song that will get lots of dj spins. Anybody remember Gett Off? Summertime club jam? Hello!?

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

exactly! i'll be on the floor in a second when this comes on. and this single will get play on radio and generate interest. it doesn't sound like anything else on radio.

Janet's new single is just kind of boring....this one smacks you in the face with irritation! I tried to give it a chance but what the fuck? How does Timabland go from something as hot as "Promosicous" to something this clunky. And Justin, Timbaland....do people a favor and don't mention that Prince is an influence (although it, sadly, is Princely, Princish....whatever). It almost sounds like "Black Sweat" gone terribly wrong (and I love "Black Sweat").
