Are there any songs that she has recorded that she wrote 100%
or does she always collaborate with someone?

Beyonce Knowles blames her beautiful looks for preventing people from seeing what a talented artist she really is.

The former Destiny's Child singer has enjoyed a flourishing solo career and has had movie success starring in films including the 'Pink Panther' - but she still yearns to be respected as an artist.

The 24-year-old says, "It's frustrating, because sometimes, when you are attractive, people don't acknowledge that you are talented as well."

"I mean, I'm a songwriter, I'm a producer, I have a strong voice, I'm a dynamic performer. Sometimes people forget that."

People don't realize she's the voice of a generation. She combines the melody of McCartney with the social commentary of Marvin Gaye & the biting lyricism of Dylan.

It was such a personal statementof alienation & isolation, reminiscent of In Utero or Plastic Ono Band, it bring me to tears when I hear:

"My body's too bootylicious for you"

Beyonce can sing. Big fuckin' whoop because there are way more talented singers out there.

When I look at her, most of the time my mind goes to the gutter and the last thing I'm thinking about is her singing to me. lol

If she wants props and respect, she has to act like it. Being a glorified video ho with a boyfriend who pimps out the black community ain't how you do it.

OMG....i have an unhealthy fondness for Shawn Carter lol...leave ugly ass Hov alone

This is a funny thread...lol

I guess we were to LISTEN to her roll around like a damn fool at the BET awards and when Jay Z smack her on her ass....OMG...I was watchin'...I think I was suppose to be listenin' to the talented ass smackin' her booty does.

Now that's some funny shit! I hear you 100%. She's acting like her lyrics are so profound. I'm not trying to take anything away from her but it's not like she's up there with Lennon or even Eddie Vedder for that matter.

I think its kinda funny that she thinks people don't notice her talent. If she truly felt this way, she'd take the focus off her looks occasionally...oh, but if she does that, the dreaded Rihianna monster may take her place. She's already knocked out one competitor. lol (That's probably what they tell her) With some of the things she says and does, its hard to believe she has anyone around her that's not trying to manipulate her for their own purposes. Mariah writes her own songs and does so very well. Beyonce want to be respected because she's a singer and writes SOME of her own songs. hmmm A sin-ger...that writes her own songs....hmmm Wow, don't think that's been done before. rolleyes

Some people shouldn't be allowed to do interviews.

Agreed, I wish she'd kept this little tidbit to herself... at least until she's had a stretch of solely depending on her talent instead of shaking her ass & being hoochie for every song @ every damn moment of every damn day neutral

Here I always thought she was bragging about being too bootylicious, when all along it was an insecurity.

It's funny, too, because she actually gets a decent amount of respect considering how she presents herself.

Wow, interesting quote.

Not meaning to start any debates but I have always believed Beyonce has gotten more credit than she deserves in every area, soley based upon her skin coloring. Change no physical feature about Beyonce', except darken her skin by 2 or 3 tones and I wonder how her career would be different ( I say the same about Alicia Keys). I do believe she is attractive and have talent, but no more so than Kelly, or even Letoya Luckett. Beyonce' can raise her voice louder, which can give the illusion that a person can actually sing but to think she actually will be in history books, which we all know she will, makes me cringe simply because I personally believe, her simply having light skin has played a much larger role in her success than many are willing to admit.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I didn't think it was possible but I now have to concede that the woman is actually dumber than she looks. She really thinks all the people around her telling her how amazingly talented she is are genuine, rather than just money hungry ass-kissers looking after the goose that lays their golden eggs. She can sing a bit ( no better than a million others ), she's got bland, inoffensive good looks and she happened to be in the right place at the right time. If it wasn't her it would have been someone else. She'll find out exactly how much talent she's got in a few years when her looks fade and the teenyboppers have moved on to the next vacuous production line bimbo/diva.

Dearest Beyonce: I think you'll find that the demand for your incredible songwriting and producing "talents" will dry up the second your "booty" stops being "licious" so start saving those pennies now - monthly botox injections ain't cheap.

She has a point. Ms Knowles is the reigning queen of the whole "stripper-pop" phenomena. She's a victim of her own divadom. Though I'd just as soon see a stripper dancing to her tunes as pay top dollar to see her prance and sing.
