I think it was $29 when I looked. I got the vinyl for $2, and it sounds really good on vinyl thumbs up! So I'll wait for the $9.99 CD remaster with bonus 12'' mixes lol

I just checked. Total for all three of the remastered albums in print + 3-6 days EMS shipping comes to ~$60 US (that's with shipping to Canada).

The ones released are:

-Smooth Talk
-I'm In Love
-Get Loose

Still much cheaper than Amazon. I think I will be visiting this site more frequently... hmmm

You know when I finally do decide to buy these, they will announce the new remasters the very next day or some shit. Happens all the time.

i love it... my favorite cracker cds are still "cracker," "kerosene hat" and "golden age," but this one ranks right up there with them... there's a little less hickman on this one than on others (he takes no lead vocals anywhere on the cd), but it doesn't really hinder the cd at all... musically they are all over the place... lyrically, lowery seems to be a little more depressed than usual, but there's still plenty of the sardonic and random lyrics that you expect from a cracker cd...

and catch them on tour if you can... i've seen them twice this year... once it was hickman and lowery acoustic and the other time it was the full band... i honestly don't know which show i liked better... they were smokin' for sure...

cool I'll check it out.

I like Cracker and I think Kerosene Hat is a kickass album. I don't know Golden Age well.

I saw them tour on Kerosene Hat. I'd see them again.

there's a dvd called "get on with it: the best of cracker" that has several music videos, as well as a show from the kerosene hat tour... worth picking up...

"golden age" is an overlooked album... a lot of critics didn't like it too much... they said it was either too dark or too rootsy... i enjoy it... "i hate my generation," "sweet thistle pie," "i'm a little rocket ship" and so many others... and my favorite "big dipper"... this was the cd that stayed in constant rotation during my depressing summer of 97... lol... and i got it autographed by david and johnny, so... but all in all, "golden age" may be my favorite... but most people go for "kerosene" and the self-titled... this new one is easily as good as either of those...

also worth seeking out is the collaboration they did with leftover salmon called "oh cracker, where art thou?"...

Big Dipper is SUCH a good song nod

I must admit, I prefer Camper Van Beethoven to Cracker. But only SLIGHTLY. Either way, whatever incarnation David Lowrey tours with it's a show worth seeing.

if you prefer CVB, then you definitely want to check out the new cracker cd... it's very much in the cracker tradition of being rootsy, but at the same time it's a lot more musically adventurous and quirky than cracker generally is... in parts it sounds like a cracker/CVB mashup... which makes sense, because victor krummenacher is playing in the current incarnation of cracker...
