Check out her version of Tina and Ike's 'Funkier Than a Mosquito's Tweeter'
She also did a very nice civil rights movement song 'I wish I knew how it would feel to be free'. A great artist with a lot to say. [Edited 7/4/06 17:37pm] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

That song is a hair-raiser I'd been meaning to get into Nina for YEARS & I heard that song one day in a store - that was IT, I had to go get her immediately I'd already loved "Feeling Good" from years back & a few other songs they used in the American remake of (gulp) La Femme Nikita (ick on the remake, NOT the original which is great!) But yea, Four Women is a fave. So is Sinner Man, Do I Move You, Missippi Goddamn & the song in my sig . [Edited 7/4/06 18:05pm]

Nothing like a Nina Simone interview,,,,she loves throwing bombs in interviews, so to speak.
She did a gig in some juke joint in Harlem not so long ago(couple of years b4 she died). A couple were talking during her per4mance, cut the per4mance OFF and said to them "I spit on both of you motherfuckers" and continued the per4mance like nothing happend. These 2 kept their mouth shut after that lol they didn't even got out She gets deranged when folks talk during her per4mance or don't listen,,,,throwing nasty tantrums.

she also did a concert in London shortly before she died. She arrived 2hrs late, went straight to the piano with two shopping bags...put the down and sat at the piano. Someone in the crowd starting boo-ing and she stopped playing and called the audience ''a load of c**ts ''
