Can Whitney make a comeback ?

I would love to see her get her life back in shape and give Mariah and Beyonce and all those other pretenders a run for their money.....but would he voice be the same after all the partying or would she sound like a cat being strangled (like Mariah Carey does) neutral

That`s a difficult question..

I LOVE Whitney Houston, and i would love to see her get her life together,
concentrate on the music, and make a comeback.
BUT i think most people would have a hard time taking her seriously again...

no. without a voice she has nothing to work with. she killed her voice. she killed her career.

i was out the other day and heard her version of "i will always love you." it was sad...here's this amazing voice made silent by a nasty drug. its really too bad.

im so tired of sympathy for her.

i like her, but she is a grown woman who can make choices and if she chooses to hit that pipe day in and day out...that's on her. she has all the $$$$ she could ever need, all the resources to reach out and get help, she doesn't have to record another NOTE and will have had one of the biggest careers in Entertainment of the last 100 years, millions of fans, a huge catalog of hits...it's in her hands. i feel much worse for the crackhead welfare moms who are on their own and neglected by the system.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

i should clarify that i don't have sympathy for her, per se. i simply feel sad that someone would give up everything for nothing. for drugs. for shit.

you know i have to agree with you on that. it's her choice whether she wants to comeback but I don't have sympathy for her. she's a grown woman. she just needs to act like one for the sake of her daughter.

whitney can make a comeback. the public has short memory spans about people's private lives if they put out the product they want.

(i'm rooting for her) thumbs up!

My answer is yes. With the right producers and material it's very possible.

That's clear proof that if you want to comeback, you will. Go on Natalie! Hopefully Whitney will do the same.

Of course she can. The Natalie Cole comparison is on point.

A better comparision is Whitney and Billie Holliday.
Both of their lives are so similar. I was watching, "Lady Sings The Blues", recently and all I could see is Whitney. It was very sad. Whitney needs positive people in her corner who will enable her, instead of disabling her. There are those who blame Bobby, I don't. I more place the blame on those people who were and still are afraid to tell Whitney, "NO!". Nobody told, Ms. Holiday, No! either and she paid with her life. Whitney still has a chance, every day that she wakes up. Let's hope that she sees it, one day.

It doesn't matter to me any more. In the 1980s, I wished she would have just gone away. Nowadays, she can't influence music to get any worse than it is already and she's great for comedy.

Definitely, but like Michael, it has to be linked to a real change, not just a declaration of being back.

More importantly, her voice can't be shot, which it probably is right now. But Mariah's voice isn't what it was and she's doing fine.

There's a lot of people who'd easily accept her coming back, she didn't do anything to hurt other people (that we know of).

I think unlike Mariah, she can't just pop back up with a few nice listenable Clear Channel friendly songs...she would really have to work for it and fight for it. From what I've seen, she doesn't care so why should the public?

Yeah, but it's a different envoirnment. Then again, if she goes old school, she could sell albums...to your mama! Seriously, look at Rod Stewart. She could do well doing that but to get pop hits again, she needs a lot of work, killer songs and to clean up her act...and she isn't into it anymore (was she ever..?).
