"Something About You" by Ebonee Webb in 1981. That jam sounds a lot like "Head". Everything about that song just screams "Prince!". The falsetto, the synths, everything. Hell, the first time I heard it, I thought it was Prince. They have another jam from 1983 called "Too Hot To Be Cool" that sounds just like Prince also.

Ebonee Webb seem to have been obsessed with Prince. What was that song called, the one that ripped off Sexy Dancer? hmmm
Ah, nevermind, I remember now. It's Anybody Wanna Dance?

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Gary Numan - Cars

If you just heard it with the music alot of people would say it was Prince for sure! Sounds like it should be on 1999 and sounds quite alot like Automatic and Wet Dream Cousin in places.

The barkays were doing wilding out on stage long before prince hit the scene.

Those guys were and still are wild as hell. The straight hair, the bleached hair, the spiked hair, the outfits, the fire, the naked woman on stage, the boa constrictors.....I could go on and on.

"Anybody Wanna Dance" is kinda Princely. Another one is "Keep On Steppin'". Out of all the groups over the years, I've never seen anyone get the Prince sound as down pack as Ebonee Webb.

Leave it up to me to name some obscure (as well as some obvious)choices:

Mixed Bizness - Beck
Sex - Scritti Politti
Wonderful People - Q & Not U
Hold My Hand - Van Hunt
SFM, Breakaway, and Right Here's The Spot - Basement Jaxx
Doot Doot - Freur
Needy Girl - Chromeo
Blue Chair - Elvis Costello (think about it, doesn't it remind you of "Manic Monday"?)
Night - Harco Pront
When I Come Back Around - Jamie Lidell
She Lives In My Lap - Outkast
Fly On The Windscreen - Depeche Mode (listen to that back-to-back with "She's Always in My Hair and notice the similarities.)
Naz-tee Mayen (I think that's how you spell it) - Fishbone
NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Definitely right about that one. In my opinion there are quite a few tracks on the Multiply album that sound like Prince.
(Little Richard enters the stage)
Homer: Purple Rain!!
Little Richard: Shut up!
Homer (to Marge): Oh my God, Michael Jackson just told me to shut up!
