The rappers problem stem from be-ing tone deaf

I was walking home from getting a coffee and some guy was blaring this idiot rap song in his car. The main lyric went like this: "We Be In The Club." I blurted out, "you should be gettin your ass into a library." I laughed my ass off, spilled coffee on my self, then realized that the same rapper on the song is probably making more money then me. I then kneeled and cried like a wee baby. waaaaah. lol
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Indeed. And what does tone deaf have to do with choice of words? I urge you to look at the grammar in your own subject line again before you send somebody off to the liberry.

Not all rap is bad, but most of it does reflect your viewpoint. I'm African-American too and I just feel that it's a combination of the music industry making money and the absence of very few who are truly talented. There are great rappers just as there are great people in other areas wink . It's the content of the music and the way that it is presented to the public.

Yeah, it's a shame.... I have heard thing from Common and Mos Def that had meaningful lyrics, but they never seem to get properly reflected....

Very true and that is usually the case that the meaningful rappers never get as much air time as the one's who perpetuate many of the terrible stereotypes that are associated with people of color. Very sad.

some white people hate it, because it gives blacks to make money and move up in life in positive lifestyles.

And i wish some people on the org, would understand why hip hop was created before they say there stupid well there is no instrument players, in rap music, and the same ole everybody can do it, bullshit

No..We contribute to the continued stagnation of our people. The music that you listen to does not. In this world you have choices and it is up to YOU, not the music, to make the right choice. If a 4 minute rap song can change what I have taught my 4 year daughter in her 4 years on this earth, then I am the one to blame, not the music.....

Believe it or not, there are a lot of black people who hate rap too.

Do they hate it for "racist" reasons or do they hate it because they think rap promotes a negative image for all blacks?

Do people who hate rap, hate all rap or just certain kinds of rap? Certainly, the Sugar Hill Gang, Ice-T, NWA, Will Smith, and Eminem are all different styles of rap music.

Just asking the questions... It might be more of a generational thing than a color thing.

That being said, anyone catch the old white tourists standing in the aisles, clapping to the beat, when Busta Rhymes rocked the Conan O'Brien show?

Behold a Pale Horse - THe Boogie Monsters

[b]Behold a pale horse, death is in our midst
We gotta keep on point cause we movin off course
I'm checkin for you and yours
It's hittin worldwide
We gotta maximize by eliminatin lies

Old Tommy Boy had this plan to rule the planet
First he needed some land to expand
Off the shores of Spain to maintain he set off to the western hemisphere
His first qualm was this Indian man
See, Tommy and his people knew the flav
And to really make it happen they went and got a million slaves
Stripped them off their materials and their minds
Since back home was hard to find
Gave em mortal names and fed em swine
Maximize the enterprise, and make education impossible
Pimp the men as slaves and make they shorties Jezebels
Make sure there's no more railroads underground so they can't use it
[b]Oh yeah and don't forget - infiltrate they rap music
This plan'll hit em harder then they think, cause they don't care
Our symbols is on the back of they dollars, the end is here
And spiritually they unprepared, so we gon' break em down to slaughter
In the new (the new) the what (the what) the world, the order

Look,

-All hip hop is not bad

-if you don't like it, don't listen to it...its that simple.

-but don't try to make whole threads about how ignorant rap is because not all black folks, not all white folks, not all asian folks, not all latino folks, not all indian folks, not all african folks, and not all austrailian folks dislike hip hop

so the next time you are either outside or driving with the windows down and you hear some ignorant hip hop that you just can't stand, u can do either one of the two things:

1) turn up the volume in your car

or

2) ignore it

now back to our regularly scheduled programming.....
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

falloff Yeah, right! With a music collection in a book shelf from floor to ceiling that is 90% black and enough black sexual partners to start of episode of "Soul Train", hating rap makes me real racist. It ain't racism, it's called having good taste, being used to much better, and never lowering your standards regardless if the rest of the world has.

It's not that simple. It's everywhere and it's keeping everything else out. When there is no good new music to entertain people, we have to bitch to entertain ourselves. Why? For the sheer hell of it. evillol
