Sorry this doesn't sound like a homophobic move to me. Now if he had said 'gay sausage'... however I am curious why was Elton’s hubby asked to leave and Rupert not? How did they decide who to give the boot to?

If you go to a Dance Club, you should expect to be treated like shit. Those clubs are so fake.

I bet "looks" was the qualifying factor. Pharrell is always trying to surround himself with attractive people. I believe he thinks he's a "pretty boy" jetsetter of some sort. Since Rupert actually IS a pretty boy of sorts, I could se why no one would kick him out of a party. He's "atmosphere". Pharrell has acted like an ass every since the Sleptunes have been popular. This move doesn't surprise me one bit coming from him.

If you go to a Dance Club, you should expect to be treated like shit.

Yep. That's the general rule.

I don't find that remark homophobic either ... it just sounds like they wanted to clear some of the guys out to make room for more women

That's not homophobia. That's more heterodiva than anything. Also, just because he's married to Elton John, this Furnish fellow is the only one who deserves an apology. Sounds like damage control so he can get some of that "sausage" money before Sir Elton waves his gay mafia wand and has his ass silenced.

The weird thing is that if the club was "Rented" out how come people didnt know about it, why did pharrell have to bring in people to a planned event?? Second of all if U rent a club last minute you cant toss people out that already paid to get in if it was not stated there was a private party starting at such and such time, my theory is that pharrell didnt like the crowd that was let in for his event and had his staff re-do the crowd, but pharrell has to realize that if he wants to be part of the "fashion" world there are alot of Gay people in that industry, including GQ's lead guy who wasnt tossed out.

After hearing some of Elton Johns remarks about other celebrities in recent years, it seems more like he's a drama queen taking jabs at people for attention.

The details of the story itself don't really sound like Pharell was hating on gay people, but with the proper spin on the story I guess a reporter could make it sound like he was.

Wasn't it a CD listening party?
The club owner decideds what people do and can't do. Pharrell can't do anything in someone else's club without permission. His people probably had it.
As for him being in the fashion world, well as much as he charges to do "beats", its safe to say he won't suffer. IMO, he's overrated like crazy but he's making the paper. Its not like he's a struggling model. People are really buying into his faux nerd image.

Actually elton wasnt even involved with the exception of his husband, but he actually had nothing to say about the incident.

The point is not so much pharrell "hating" on gays, its a stupid remark he made, but he has to realize that words breed reality, it starts with words.

The use of the word "sausage" has no gay implications. Ever heard anyone say "Its a total sausage fest in here"? It simply means there are a lot of guys in the room. Not necessarily gay; not necessarily straight. Just more men than women.
Homophobe is a strong word and is not to be taken lightly. It shouldn't be thrown at people in a haphazard manner unless its pretty clear.

FOR THE LAST TIME... Pharrell did NOT kick anyone out of the club. It was the promoters of the event that kicked the people out! Pharrell was not even aware of it until after the fact when he was notified that Elton's husband was one of the ones asked to leave and when he did find out he profusely apologized. Pharrell is NOT a homophobe! Period, end, STOP!!! mad

EmbattledWarri
or

well probably is a homophobe...
but i don't think what he said was homophobic...
ive said on occaision if a party has too many males in it
its a Sausage fest...
nothing gay about it...
just too many guys

because the club was partly gay it may have been taken in the wrong context
and its easy to pick on a celeb and have him apologize for something that is as vague as "sausage"

If Pharrell is so gay then why is he kicking guys out to have more women in the club? HUH? That doesn't seem like the behavioral pattern of a gay man to me. shrug

He could actually be straight and want more women in the club. However, on the other hand, since so many closeted bisexuals like to cover up their sexuality, it could be a cover up.

It's one of those "could be homophobic or could not be homophobic" situations. It's just according to what his sexuality actually is and only he and his male sexual partners (if any) would know that.
