For some reason I thought you loved everything Hounds and onward, but thought everything before was too shrill or something. At least I thought that was you. The Dreaming is almost impenetrable at first. But most fans swear by it, so I haven't totally given up on it just yet.

This old review from AMG keeps me intrested in The Dreaming. I love the bold part. Very intrigued...
The Dreaming is Bush's most accomplished and progressive work to date. Startling and even overwhelming at times, the album is rife with experimentation. Bush's vocal delivery and lyrics transcend anything she has done before or since. From the otherworldly darkness and bewildering rage of "Get Out of My House" to the quirky, fairy garden sounds of "Suspended in Gaffa," The Dreaming is a display of the artist at full tilt, all synapses firing toward a thematic, visionary end.

Well, I can hear it. And wasn't surprised when Bjork herself acknowledged the album was a huge influence on her. It's all there.

Okaaay?? with the classical training, the influence of her environment while growing up, the education she got hanging around icelandic punks and beatniks in her early days, and all that came after, i have a hard time believing bjork just grabbed a copy of "the dreaming" and said "ooh, nice - i'm just gonna nick off this for the rest of my career."

Is not what I said. Fuckinghell. I was refering to the album's creative, uncompromising and risk taking elements by a female artist within the confines of pop music. Bjork has acknowleged it was a huge influence on her approach. Whatever. I'll leave you all to your little "blow-off" session.

I'm not saying you have to like it. I'm just saying that I'm surprised that you don't. Replace Kate's vocals with Bjork's and it could almost be a Bjork album.
