Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Producing......

Some tracks for Jessica Simpsons new cd, which based on the first single is a very Madonna "Holiday" type vibe. So far out of the Ladies due out with new records the next few months, it seems that Jessica is the only one that sounds somewhat fresh, where as the others sound too produced or just the same old thing or they are lame "collabos".

I heard Jessica's new single and it sounds just like Madonna's "Holiday".Jam and Lewis do waaaayyyy too much sampling/borrowing these days.

I stopped listening to their productions in the early 1990s because they became just like everyone else.

There will be lawsuits flying, I think once the credits for the track come out, I'm sure that they would have sampled Holiday.
Still it's a good song and at least different from what everyone else is doing right now. A hot video would make this song HUGE. luckily Bret Ratner will be directing the video so it should be eye candy and oh so glossy.

They did nice work on patti labelle's flame album of 1997. They also did some
nice work with chante moore, isley brothers, and EWF all in the 2000's. Don't count these guys out yet. They seem to do their best work when collabing with
Big jim wright and lance and prof t.

I'm aware of the Patti joint as well as the Isley stuff. I thought it was just OK. I felt like any producer could have evoked such, but that doesn't mean it was bad.

I think he played a huge part in Janets sound & image as a songwriter and video director, since he left she lost her edge.

love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

It does kind of remind me of old school standard disco. The only part of the song I heard was her repeating the same thing over and over again....Very boring.

Even with Reene, Jam/Lewis were already sampling. janet & The Velvet Rope are 2 examples of that. At least with these 2 albums, they were groundbreaking, IMO.

Everything went downhill beginning with the release of All For You.

Excluding the controversial SuperBowl halftime show, Damita Jo a mistake!

They're been sampling for a while. The bassline of Rhythm Nation was taken from Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).

Don't worry Rip. I didn't forget about the RN title track. wink With THIS song, Jimmy Jam was very creative wth that Sly Stone sample. I hear that Prince like to fell on the floor and died when he first heard RN on the radio! lol
