I'd love to see how it is you pick the music you listen to and/or have it categorized.
It always seems to be themed. At one point everything you posted for days was Red black & white, Today it's all death related.

It is all themed, but in an odd way. Yesterday I chose Italian bands because of World Cup (or in Cranes' case an album recorded in Italy). Listening to Blooding Mask yesterday left me feeling nostalgic for more 90s goth so that's what I brought to work today starting with another Blooding Mask album and a Latin titled Christian Death album, then moving on to French bands (better luck next time France) like Corpus Delicti and Brotherhood Of Pagans. All my goth CDs are separated from the rest in my collection.

That's interesting. Are they also color coded or was the red period more of a subliminal mood thing?

Any sort of color coding was purely coincidental. I'm not that creative when it comes to choosing music. My brain won't let me. It can only handle one or two types of genres a day. After all this goth, the last thing I will bust out on a day like today is Wu-Tang Clan or Public Enemy. lol

i.c.

I wished I had paid more attention to what the CD's were. I only remember the long string of red. I assumed you were in ramdom mode and that the energy of the red was calling you. Now I wonder what you're like in a restaurant ordering food. That's either very interesting, or a disaster.

Food is the opposite. I can't eat the same thing two days in a row. I need variety. I will try to associate the restaurant with whatever else I am doing that evening. Like Mexican film = Mexican restaurant. I like themes and finding some sort of coherence or organization in things.

I can see you doing that, based on the way you post, and I can see you getting plastered after "Sideways" because it fit the theme. Interesting, but i'll stop interrupting now.

We need a "how you pick what you're going to listen to" thread.

One last thing: Do you ever coordinate the meal and the music?

I've done that--listen to Mexican artists in the car before going out to eat Mexican. Or if I'm home cooking chili, I'll put Julieta Venegas in the CD player or something. mexican

It's a good thing I've never seen 'Sideways'. lol I heard it was good, but a little overhyped.
