I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

One of their later cuts, "Words and Music", has such a beautiful falsetto. The video used to get regular airplay on BET back in the day.

I pretty much like all of their 70s albums, but this one is my favorite:

Produced by Freddie Perren and released in spring 1976,this is the album that contains their breakthrough disco hit "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel",which really took their career to new heights. The album also features the cool,laid-back number "Ridin' High" and a strong opener "The Mighty Power Of Love".The second single from this album was the excellent "Don't Take Away The Music".This is a filler-free album and every song could have been a single.

music I go crazy over that song! It's from their late-1978 album 'Madam Butterfly':

Another superb album by Tavares. This one wasn't produced by Freddie Perren,it was produced by Bobby Martin (L.T.D.'s producer),so it's less disco and more soul. The opening track "Straight From The Heart" sounds just like an L.T.D. song. The big hit,of course,is the smooth, breezy midtempo jam "Never Had A Love Like This Before",but I think that the title track and the catchy "One Telephone Call Away" could have, and should have, been singles.

They were excellent showmen as well. Their live performances were very energetic.

Here's a penny for your thoughts
A nickel for a kiss
A dime if you tell me that you love me

I thought I was the only one that remembered that one. biggrin
