In the meantime, here's a funny little interview about when she considered a b-sides album for To Venus and Back.
Host: And are the b-sides angry they're not on this album? Tori: No, they're hanging out. H: Yeah? Bsides will be bsides? T: They want to be a quadruple box set. They don't want to be separated from each other because there's quite a . . . what is it? H: A camaraderie? T: Yeah . . . That's very good! And there's this status in being a bside, you see. H: Yeah, it's very cultish. T: Yeah, they have this whole underground thing, they have pamphlets out on them, they like being who they are. So when it was time to choose maybe 6 or 7 songs plus a few new ones . . . it wasn't a really good concept of mine, it was one of my poopier ones.

And you should definitely get the book. You're such an avid reader that you'd have it finished in no time. I know I'm a super-fan, but it was honestly one of the best things I've ever read. I almost enjoy reading what she says as much as I do listening to her. And about songs not included...I noticed that the vast majority of them are either soundtrack or compilation songs or cover versions. I'm sure she left them off for legal reasons or is planning some kind of "Strange Little Girls" part 2 or box set. How hot would it be to get all of those together along with some newly recorded stuff like studio versions of "Like A Prayer" or "Karma Police".

I saw someone post this on a Tori forum...
Other than covers, soundtrack songs, Scarlet's Hidden Treasures and Scarlet's Web, these are the only b-sides missing: Ode to the banana king Alamo Graveyard Humpty Dumpty Samurai Sister Named Desire Song For Eric Thoughts And a new version of "Sister Named Desire" is coming out on the Neil Gaimann tribute album soon.

Okay so 2005 was a huge Tori year for me.
This year, not so much. I've been way into Prince and other things. But I am seriously famming out right now. Just thought I'd share that.

Literally. And if she'd done away with those cute little 3 inchers, she could've really gone wild. I think the most vital things on there are the Strings discs. I would make a whopper of a Bjork comp. This Surrounded thing that comes out tomorrow leaves a lot to be desired too.

I think I've just been flooded with new music by too many artists for the past 2 years. I pull in so much new stuff all the time that I can't focus on anything lol. Already took me about a year to fully digest Scarlet when it first came out. To much other stuff keeps getting in the way. I remember the days when I was too young, too broke and most importantly without an internet connection to buy or download new music constantly. In those days I'd buy one or two albums and play them all the time until I got a new one like a month or two later and then listen to all of them all the time again. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

In those days I'd buy one or two albums and play them all the time until I got a new one like a month or two later and then listen to all of them all the time again. Honestly, I miss those days. And I try to keep it balanced. I find that I get the most out of music when I'm exclusive with one artist until I wear them out and move on to something else. But with my computer and iPod, I like to shake it up every now and then and go totally RANDOM to keep myself fresh. I find if I end up somewhere in the middle, I get really bored. I like to be totally dedicated or not at all. I think that's why I keep burning personal comps too. It's not really necessary now that I have half my music collection on my iPod, but I still prefer actual CD's.
