New Order, David Bowie, Iggy Pop & Roxy Music...

New Order, Bowie, Iggy Pop & Roxy Music are to contribute music to the soundtrack of the bio-pic about Ian Curtis, as directed by Anton Corbijn...

A short message from a Dutch Ceefax page. Hell of an exciting list, innit?

The message says they are working together, but I think that would be TOO good to be true, wouldn't it?

I will try if I can dig up more facts...

www.imdb.com still lists this picture as being in pre-production.

I cannot find where they got their info from, but I have found a site with loads of kewl info;

http://members.aol.com/lwtua/these.htm

"We were asked to do the soundtrack to the film, which I thought was a fucking great idea - for Joy Division to do the music for a Joy Division film - because we've never really done a soundtrack before." ... "It may include new stuff. Anton wants to use songs by Joy Division so that each song becomes a video. Like the way the Atmosphere video was filmed, he wants to write videos that appear in the film."

I read this. It sounds great. I think I also read that The Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols and Lou Reed will be included too.

If all went accordingly, they are shooting now...

This is gonna be SO much better than 24 Hour Party People, I can just tell. I'm glad that they got Anton on board for this.

I am VERY curious about this, Anton is such a sincere fellow... with this amazing vision. And he actually met Ian, so that must be one of the reasons he got New Order to commit.
