So far the album is starting to sound the same as Mariah's (all in JD's plan) so why not.... Bring out the pop, the funk, the dance...dare I say even the rock! Enough with this namby pamby R&B.

Janet and Mariah, I'm so there, I hope it's in the same vein as "Got till it's gone" that could be hot, or I have heard the "duet" will simply be a loop of Mariah singing an old Janet hook (Control era) and background vocals.
While were talking about JD, has anyone heard 3LW's new song that he produced called "Fellin' you", it's basically "Call on me" they sound the same! same beat and all, xcept the 3LW track is better?! I kid you not, and why couldn't he give Janet a track as hot as "Shake it off" if he was set on doing a mid tempo jam. JD can make beats but he really needs someone to help him out with melodies and vocal production, because his tracks lack it unless his working with a singer who can write their own.

also, do you guys think Europe will get another first single (like Nelly Furtado did)? That would be a smart move.

Also Call on me is growing on me, I like it, no more or less. I guess that's all Janet needs a song that lots of people like ,(instead of a hot track like "got till it's gone" that some tottaly LOVED!) because that's all it takes for people to go out and buy an album by an established artist, same thing doesn't work for new artists.

The question comes to my mind: Which diva will outwhisper the other one?
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'm not expecting much...or anything really. A duet does nothing for me. People expected mountains to crumble from the Mariah & Whitney duet. People just got sick to their tummies. That was all.

So instead of being a JANET album it will be a GUESS spot album. Sort of like one of those multi artist cd's released through TV. It's starting 2 sound more and more like shit.....

I Say WHY???
I love Janet !!! but it almost seems like JD feels the need to Prop her up with these Collabs...Let Jan stand on her own...She's quite capable.

JD, on "Call On Me":
"Nelly, I try to do what I do with my friends," Dupri explained. "Me and him had just come off the success of 'Grillz' at the time I made this record. He was the person on my mind. "Especially since Janet only made records, not to disrespect Q-Tip or Heavy D, but as far as popular rappers in this day and time, Busta Rhymes was the only one. We was trying to go to the radio and not do the typical R&B featured record. I was trying to be more creative and find somebody who can do melody as well as rap on the record. Nelly don't really rap on this song, he's singing. He has that different style. That's kind of what the record is. We see that enough: R&B with a rapper feature. That's why I call this a duet as opposed to a feature."

The MTV scares me. It almost seems as if he can't separate the artists and his creativity. A Nelly 'duet' is enough.

This will only cause people to compare Janet and Mariah's voices and that's not good, for Janet.

Yeah. I like the fact that this is supposed to celebrate the anniversary of "Control"....because "Control" really needed 20 "hot" producers and a bunch of hip collobrations. For shame....Should be titled "Out Of Control". Something tells me Janet's album after this will be worth the wait.

Great...Nelly, Khia, and Mariah on Janet's new CD. Doesn't she have any faith in herself at all? God, I can't believe Janet has to rely on these tricks to get airplay.

It's not a trick it's just the nature of the genre at the moment

geez, this is starting to sound disappointing. the first single has a guest spot with nelly (someone i don't like -- though the song works so its cool), the second single has a guest spot with khia (someone i don't like -- but hopefully the song will work and it'll be cool), and now i'm hearing about a 3rd song with a guest and, again, its someone i don't like.

what the fuck? am i buying a janet album or what? forget 20 years old, just call this shit duets and get it over.
